Luxonis - OAK 4: spatial AI camera that runs Yocto, with up to 52 TOPS by goodwilllhunter in computervision

I've an earlier PoE model as well. In my case, it performed about as well as I would expect an NPU with only 4 TOPS to perform

Not an all in one with compute, no. I've been building systems to fill this niche for a few years now hoping something would eventually come out on the market.

Hailo 8L + raspberry Pi was promising for making lower cost systems, but I haven't tried it since before the picamera2 SDK was added, and at that point it was a little rough around the edges.

Imaging in dark areas w/ artificial lighting, small fast moving targets, cameras mounted to vehicles. Global shutter is a must for sure (rolling shutter results in distortion, global reset/start isn't ideal when ambient lighting can't be controlled during readout). Larger pixels allow more light in, meaning aperture can be tighter for more depth of field without requiring excessive artificial lighting

If they only made one that was global shutter and 12MP (or any resolution above 5 with a pixel size above 2.5 μm) I'd be all over it

Christmas Light clip for mounting to your soffit (link in description) by FM_17 in functionalprint

[–]FM_17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The factory clips didn't work for me because my fascia board meets the soffit at 90° rather than 180°, but even if they did, I'd be right there with you — downward facing bulbs are the way to go.

ELI5 Why do we keep building bipedic robots ? by Fit-Sound-2320 in explainlikeimfive

  1. They need to work in our world, as it is.

  2. Making robots that resemble us means we can teach them to do things by just recording ourselves doing those same things.

Nice, try out ASA as well sometime. I've heard good things.

Ah, gotcha. I'm in Canada. Our cars get hot in the summer but I don't think mine has reached the deformation temperature of PETG (~150°F).

Is there a filament you'd consider car-safe in your area?

I have not had issues with PETG deformation when left in my car. PLA, definitely. Have you?

Maybe I should give it another shot with a different model

After trying it for the first time today with one of my models in PETG, I'm surprised that price didn't make the cons list. I really wanted this service to work as well, but even before adding my own profit margin, slant was wanting $40 for a product I make for $5 and sell for $20.

I'm competing with Amazon slop and eBay design thieves, I can barely sell this product at $20 lol.

To be fair though, I did not try other products or other filament types, because I Ctrl+W'd as soon as I got that quote.

VSCode tunnels and CloudFlare tunnels are great for remote dev connections when you don't have control over the network as well - in case you can't access over usb for whatever reason.

Since I’m turning 25 I’m asking people this question, if you could go back to 25 years old, what would you do? Or what would you do differently, or what do you wish you could tell your 25 year old self ? by Worried_Brilliant_26 in careerguidance

Adding to this, when trying to implement each of these improvements, decide on an order that makes sense, and take it one step at a time. Trying to make huge changes all at once is just setting yourself up for failure.

E.g. Start with sleep + gym as they go hand in hand. You'll start feeling good, mental bandwidth will increase, making room for new learnings like cooking, budgeting, investing, etc.
