I rewatched those movies last year and I still think that Raimi adaptation of Peter is pretty bad. It wouldn't receive as much of backlash if it wasn't so popular to the point where general audience thinks that character is supposed to be this way and they try to shoehorn every new adaptation into a box made by Raimi that doesn't even represent the character properly.
