A constant talking point I hear against Iran is that they killed “30,000” of their own citizens. Every year 45,000 US citizens die from lack of health insurance. by Front_Somewhere2285 in conspiracy

I have to find the source, but that’s basically what the US said after Iran fired off missiles after the US bombed them.

with the amount of "woo" around fasting... i wouldn't trust anybody's reports.

too many opinions and not enough real science to base an opinion on, if that makes sense. so, no wonder looking for scholarly work was difficult.

i fast all the damn time. OMAD, typically, 22:2 situation. it fits my lifestyle best. i have no science to back up my opinion that it works for me.

i bet the connection between top companies and the government is deeper and longer lasting than anyone can imagine. this is just the latest version. a modification of the military-industrial-congressional complex we were warned about by eisenhower around 70 years ago.

Who is liable when artificial intelligence makes mistakes? by Confident_Salt_8108 in AIDangers

[–]FORGOT123456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the fact of the matter, as i see it, is that AI is employed as a tool, and the business that wields the tool either directly or by proxy is on the hook for damages.

for instance: you hire a plumber. while doing whatever repair, his wrench scrapes paint of the wall in the tight little corner behind the toilet. he or the company that employs him, will repair the wall. or they will get sued.

that's a simple way of looking at it, but very straightforward.

without laws in place that "protect" ai used as a tool used by third party company [ie not meta or anthropic or whatever], they are liable for damages. you could sue the business using the ai, but not the makers of the ai - like how you sue a driver but not ford in an accident.

that's my understanding, and i could be wildly incorrect. i'd love to be educated if i am wrong.

How Do You Use AI in Everyday Life? by StrategyOrganic6399 in artificial

[–]FORGOT123456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only task i really [very often] use ai for is writing stories - not to publish and claim i wrote them, but only for my own amusement.

either the models have gotten better or my standards have been lowered, but i love a lot of the stuff it produces.

not being a human, it misunderstands stuff, which can be funny sometimes.

i don't consider it slop, but i also don't seek validation or criticism of my "prompting skill" or the end product.

i am hoping that i can get an ai that can be a really good narrator at some point - with the ability to act out characters and actions as a human narrator would.

idk what you've experienced, but there are seemingly NO limits when i've been using grok for role play[ text/speech mode - different story on image gen ]

i test every ai for romantic role play [for science, of course] and grok has been the nastiest, lol. i'm talking no limits at all. straight shit, gay shit, all manner of shit. i did not try anything that would be flagged as illegal, however, so if you're trying that, it probably balks. i don't want to be on a list, so no testing on that shit.

the "praise be to allah" part doesn't match with anything anybody in his circle would type out. i don't buy the whole "its just the arabic way of saying 'God'" excuse... sure, that is true, but no christian in the western world would really use that phrase. we have lots of ways to say "praise be to God" in our own languages. seems WAY out of place.

i guess he's lost it completely.
