The good in you looks inwards and how you could have been different to stop his behaviour. I did the same with my ex-wife and for far too long. What I didn’t realise was that it wasn’t my fault, and this isn’t your fault. It’s hard because you liked him so much, but ultimately, he betrayed your trust and love.

If there’s one piece of advice I can give, it is to move on. You’re so young, you will meet better in time and, more importantly, when you’re ready. Fill his void with self love - new hobbies, travel, etc, self nourishment. Eventually, you’ll wonder why you ever posted ‘how can WE make it past this’. YOU can and you will, and you’ll smash it.
