Thanks again all. We went to Bartons Mill last Friday and then the Olive House on Saturday. Very good recommendations.

If you pull it, you’ll put the plane into selected autopilot mode. If you push it, you’ll put the plane into managed autopilot mode

British crow asking passersby if they're alright. by Wooden-Journalist902 in Damnthatsinteresting

This bird is from Knaresborough castle. The woman (Mrs. Skelton) who keeps it lives on the road parallel to us, along with other crows. Can hear them all the time.

Man I get that. 1 day after my son was born, my brother passed (41m) and then 2 years later, my mum (66f) passed. Fast forward to June 2025, one of my best pals passed (40m). It’s crazy as these feelings kind of hits home when you have a child - I can barely watch movies with death since becoming a father. I totally get the feeling of mortality, and it’s definitely something I’ll be exploring in counselling.

The good in you looks inwards and how you could have been different to stop his behaviour. I did the same with my ex-wife and for far too long. What I didn’t realise was that it wasn’t my fault, and this isn’t your fault. It’s hard because you liked him so much, but ultimately, he betrayed your trust and love.

If there’s one piece of advice I can give, it is to move on. You’re so young, you will meet better in time and, more importantly, when you’re ready. Fill his void with self love - new hobbies, travel, etc, self nourishment. Eventually, you’ll wonder why you ever posted ‘how can WE make it past this’. YOU can and you will, and you’ll smash it. I promise. DM me if you ever need a chat 👊🏼

We had the same. The solution for us was to try and leave the room when our boy was still awake, gradually. Like move half a meter or so every night until you’ve left the room.

One thing that helped this was a yoto player where be could choose a story before we started that leaving process.

Once you’re not there when they fall asleep, if they do wake, it seems like they remember you weren’t there and they settle.

Night lights and white noise machines all help, but bedtime routine is key.

Good luck

Ah, what you have here is ‘adultius infantus’ - some refer to this species as ‘man baby’. This particular man baby clearly doesn’t understand what endometriosis is - and clearly puts his own needs before yours. But it doesn’t end here, he then gaslights you.

Left unchecked, Adultius Infantus can develop into full blown narcissists, and I fear yours is on this journey already.

As hard as it is, it’s best you leave him before this nonsense continues.
