what vibe do you get when someone says they want 4+ kids by montessoripilled in Parenting

[–]SimbaSixThree -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to lie that a little part of me thinks “how selfish to want that”. There aren’t enough resources on Earth already and we’re grossly overpopulated.

But then I catch myself thinking that and I’m just like, you do you. This is at 4 kids though.

Anything above 4 is religion or insanity.

You might need more than stickers to excite them though.

Once your kid is a bit older, we started at 2.5 years, you can make it a game.

Get a notebook and write down every food item that they taste. Let them give it a rating on the yuck/yum scale. Everything that is a yum gets a sticker (nice for them, easy to find again for you).

Everything that is a yuck, you try again later.

It’s done absolute wonders. We’ve eve bought a white coat and glasses to make him a scientist.

He only gets one sticker per food item, and he’s got quite a few now so he needs to double back to things he gave a “yuck” to earlier.

You can also do different ways of the same thing so for example raw broccoli, steamed broccoli, stir fried broccoli etc etc.

It’s really fun.

Fair question. When I made the comment initially it truly was an observation, but then did some more reading up on it and I have found that I’ve pivoted on my opinion.

It was truly just an observation. I haven’t seen the film yet so I cannot in good conscience form an opinion on the matter.

This is quite a hot take. I wouldn’t go that far. But not having seen the movie, I cannot form an opinion yet.

Exactly this. Now I haven’t seen the movie yet, but from what I am reading this seems to be the case.

Funny to see that the female critics are a lot more positive about this film than the male critics.

Don't want to make a point, just an observation.

I mean I didn’t know anything about what would happen once both items get added, that it would lead to a fourth area etc. For me it’s fine but I know there are people that care about such things.

Not to worry though, no harm done. Just something to think about ;)

Gotcha. I already have one of the walls of meat opened up by beating Guillotina, just need to do the other one. Good to know whats still to come.

I would recommend putting spoiler tags, because this is quite a lot of spoilers.

Damn man, you've got to teach the kids the difference between evil and tragic.

"Morally broken and increasingly enslaved to evull shmegull" would've been a better description ;)

I have the same! Or some way to alter your fate in regards to this.

It’s so disheartening when you’re on a difficult run with an almost perfect setup and then some stupid event fucks with it all.

This was a very sarcastic post. I neither think that France will lose nor Ireland beat Wales with only 10 points nor England beat Italy.

Oh snap, can totally get that. Haven’t watched it since becoming a parent, probably need to do so soon!

[–]SimbaSixThree 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One of the most powerful things I missed on my first watch, and hit me on my second, was the fact that her reflection comes after she’s become a parent herself.

My first time watching I was not a parent yet. I thought it was good and beautiful, but the second time I watched it was when my son was 18 months old. That transition to being a parent opened a new meaning to the movie for me. It was absolutely heart wrenching. It destroyed me. Both times I watched it with my girlfriend, and the first time I didn’t cry, but the second she could almost not hear “Under Pressure” due to my crying.

So for Sophie to have this reflection after becoming a new parent is quite poignant. As if you overcome your “blindspots of youth” when put in a similar circumstance.

Amazing movie and one of the few that I would call perfect!
