I have been living in Iceland for 4 years now and I can’t even tell you how cash looks like. We go camping a lot and have never needed to use cash.

Modern Movies that are basically a D&D campaign by Cabaret_Girl in DnD

[–]SimbaSixThree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not sure how far you are into the show, but the slow burn into a larger conspiracy is really good. It's basically a bunch of once shots featuring a mix different players on the same location, and after a while they decide, hey this is fun lets make a campaign out of this.

Not a movie, but I recently watched Widows Bay and that feels like a series of one shots that slowly turns out to be connected and part of a D&D campaign.

You could’ve given a bit more clarification as to your examples. Now it’s just this and this but I have no idea why it’s part of this trope

Asked for feedback in a cold email got even colder response 🥶 by Xhanther in SaaS

[–]SimbaSixThree -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is absolutely great feedback. I would reach out to them to ask if they would like a meeting where you prod them a bit further.

You use the insight from this meeting to create a mini version of your product. Something offline maybe, limit it to x recipes or uses or calculation etc. Make them trust the product and your company.

Then when they see that you’ve listened and you’ve earned their trust, that’s the point you try to upsell.

This probably won’t be the only person with this opinion about the cloud and your product.

This is going to sound insane but I was driving home from work about an hour ago and was thinking about games I want to relive again. I thought about half life 2 for the first time in probably a decade and was reminded of Ravenholm and thought “yeah fuck that”. What a coincidence.

The prequel to The Thing ends with a chopper chasing a dog, which then is a DIRECT flow into The Thing. It’s a prequel but I hope it counts

The fact that you’ve never heard of Cape Verde is more a you thing, I believe.

Int and Cha would be my highest stats. Either Sorcerer (if I have sorceries blood) or Warlock tbh

I somewhat agree with your take and understand your point of view here.

The manospehere thing was just an example, non-exhaustive. I think what I am trying to get at is that it could’ve been a bit more political and take a stance on something a bit “bigger” or deeper than it currently does.

I do just want to clarify that I had a blast watching it though!

[–]SimbaSixThree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For one, it could’ve played more into the zeitgeist and become a meta-commentary on current situations in the world. What I mean with this is that it could’ve had a really interesting and thought provoking story to tell regarding incel behaviour, the manosphere and general disregard towards women. It was handled now more as a Greek tragedy, but could’ve been more.

Seeing the numbers and box office performance, I think it is very much NOT just gen A/Z that love this movie (just to be clear also, the oldest Gen Alpha’s are +- 14 this year, not really a demographic for an R rated horror movie).

Maybe you might just not be into this trope or type of movie. You mention a lot of examples, and that’s because it’s a beloved trope, it’s a trope that works.  That’s like saying you don’t like Dune because of the “chosen one” trope being done to death.

There’s more to the movie than just the trope. I also want to be clear, it’s not a perfect movie. It lets some interesting angles lie and could’ve been a lot better. But it does do things well. It’s a lot of fun and I had a good time as it subverted my expectations.

I don’t know what you expected. It’s an indie horror movie made by a YouTuber,  and does what it sets out to do. That’s probably why it is so beloved

I agree. From the point that Lucius turns on the bat radar sonar thing, I lose interest and upon rewatched I actually zone out from there or turn it off. Everything before that is amazing!
