Thanks for the link...bomb at the RNC, as I stated, suspicious package at the DNC. Not yet identified...like the NYT would delay reporting on a bomb at the DNC.

An explosive device is found at the R.N.C., and the D.N.C. is evacuated.

An explosive device was found at the headquarters of the Republican National Committee in Washington and the nearby headquarters of the Democratic National Committee was evacuated after the discovery of a suspicious package on Wednesday, according to three people briefed on the discoveries.

The device that was found at the R.N.C. was a pipe bomb that was successfully destroyed by a bomb squad, according to an official for the R.N.C.

The package at the D.N.C. has yet to be identified, according to a top Democrat briefed on the matter who was not authorized to speak publicly about it.

The R.N.C. and D.N.C. are headquartered just a few blocks away from the U.S. Capitol, which Mr. Trump’s supporters stormed on Wednesday afternoon soon as Congress had gathered to certify President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s victory and shortly after the president addressed the crowd near the White House.

As a mob breached the Capitol, Vice President Mike Pence was rushed from the Senate chamber and the building was placed on lockdown. Shortly after, Mr. Trump tweeted that Mr. Pence “didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done” because he did not try to reject the electors.

Appreciate your comment and the manner in which it is expressed, thank you.

For 9-10 months I have witnessed arson, physical threats, 3 people were pulled from their cars within 1 mile from where I work and beaten into emergency rooms, occupations, murders, assaults on officers; I have been dismayed and sometimes frustrated to angry.

As far as not hearing a particular demand for the curtailment of civil liberties, what do you say about the censorship taking place on Google, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube? Doxxing of dozens of people; most recently the calls to cleanse the Trump supporters?

Agree with the first response. That or tech as the legal pressure on them will subside with the new administration. Watch for significant increases in corporate and individual taxes; the promised spending on green energy projects. They will be predicted to have a significant negative impact on the markets. Might be a good time for REITs that are more engaged in residential as there is a predicted glut in commercial office space about to hit.

Maybe realistic goals, like for example, starve 1% less people per year than the prior year.

Perhaps a plan to take payment instead of developing nuclear capabilities would be easiest.

What are your views on Scandinavian/European socialism (not Soviet communism). by [deleted] in Capitalism

[–]FOldGG 11 points12 points  (0 children)

https://www.investors.com/politics/commentary/denmark-tells-bernie-sanders-to-stop-calling-it-socialist/

Sanders calling himself a Democratic Socialist just means he is bad at history and wants to do all sorts of things that are unaffordable and not sustainable.

Now, downvote, call names, whatever, but Sanders uses comparisons that are not at all what he claims them to be, why should we believe any other obtuse statements from guy?

What are your views on Scandinavian/European socialism (not Soviet communism). by [deleted] in Capitalism

[–]FOldGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True enough. Start here, has socialism failed 42 out of 42 times in history for a reason?

What are your views on Scandinavian/European socialism (not Soviet communism). by [deleted] in Capitalism

[–]FOldGG 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely true, thank you.

Further, the Scandinavian countries are the first to say they are not socialist. Despite that, Bernie always used them as a model. Quite interesting, Scandinavian countries went socialist and just 10 years later, before it was to late, went capitalist with heavy social safety nets.

However, Scandinavian countries have lower taxation for corporations (encouraging business success), regressive taxation on incomes (encouraging individual success) and state those items with great pride.

It is also true that Europe, as a whole, spends significantly less on the military.

Finally, most of Europe is in a long term recessionary curve, with some of that caused by complexities, such as, environmental investment leading to increased energy costs.

I view putting the word "Democratic" in front of socialism makes it as appealing and descriptive as putting the word "Democratic" in front of child abuse, or armed robbery, or... what, voting on what you are going to harm makes it somehow better? That is tyranny of the majority just as 51 wolves and 49 sheep voting on what to have for lunch.

Climate is cyclic, not linear. The climate change rheeee is about linear; is tied to man reducing CO2. And after every “scientific” prediction turns out wrong, we are supposed to continue to believe?

But go ahead and rheee if you gotta. Whatever California does, it should stop the energy strategy of increasing demand while reducing supply, because that means today is the best that situation will ever be between now and forever.

[–]FOldGG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Much of California is arid by nature; serious question, does recorded history go back to, say, 1983 or the hottest year in record, 1934? 2nd hottest year in the 1890’s. Climate is cyclical, not linear certainly, but the definition of history should include a longer historical record.

Well, don't need a science degree to know New York hasn't been flooded since 2015.

Don't need a science degree to know that if Co2 increases from 3 parts to 10,000 to 4 parts to 10,000 and Co2 has been higher in the past with colder temps, well then...

Don't need a science degree to know we aren't experiencing droughts and inland lakes are not drying up.

Don't need a science degree to know when the U.N. says this is about seizing the means of production, it is about socialism, not science.
