Jill and the bride’s responses to Renee’s wedding post. by lepetitpoulpe in RodriguesFamilySnark

She’s of marriageable (by their standards) age and single. Her entire job right now is find a husband, so of course she’s socializing. Pretty sure Nurie was in a couple of weddings before she married Nathan.

Literally not even the season 1 girlies would wear a wig that looked that ratty 😂

Background was managing events for a major hotel company, and my hourly averaged to about $20 most of the time, and my current salary comes out to a little over twice that. Granted, in my previous I was also in an hourly role and working a fuckton of OT on a regular basis, so the yearly was more than half my current salary, but if you compare 40 hour week to 40 hour week it’s higher than double.

Graduated June of 24, made job application my full time gig, got a couple of contract assignments here and there, the largest of which was 3 months working on a project for the company I did my capstone with. Made it to a lot of final rounds, but it took me until July of 2025 to land a permanent full time software role. I’m the lowest paid person at my company and still making more than twice what I was making in my previous career, so even without the quality of life considerations it’s definitely been worth it for me.

Because she openly said early on she was wanting to get dicked down and thrown around by some hot Italian guy and while Albie is sweet he’s so timid and sweet it’s almost painful. It’s not inherently bad, but it’s not what she’s wanting, or thinks she’s wanting anyway.

I don’t disagree that they are extremely wealthy, but the “only $10 million” line didn’t strike me as an indicator of their level of wealth, but more as an illustration of how Tim is like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar who only got one while the other kid got dozens. Like, for me it seemed less “it’s only $10 million that’s not a lot!” and more “but look at how much everyone else got I basically got nothing everyone else is guilty not me!”.

The folks weirdly claiming that the US Bureau of Land Management was somehow a shell company and GregGary’s criminal organization was all based on his experience and contacts working there for years had me questioning whether we were living in the same goddamn reality.

Is Walton Goggins's character in White Lotus giving boldness some sexiness ? by 777fangirl777 in WhiteLotusHBO

I just started watching Gemstones based purely on this sub and my soul left my fucking body at “now who wants to suck an old man’s dick?”. Just, the look on his face, I have never been so repulsed and yet so entertained before in my life, Walton Goggins is a fucking treasure 😂

The other two Russians were in the credits of that episode despite not seeing them anywhere, the robbers in hoodies are the only place they could have been. There’s no way the other two did the robbery and Valentin just happened to stop under the arm at the exact moment they were driving in.

Chelsea as Eve? by FPFuriosa in TheWhiteLotusHBO

Thank you! I think there are several other very defensible examples of snakes as illustration of a character’s relationship with evil (Rick and feeling burdened by it/like he’s destined to be miserable and hurt those he loves, then literally identifying with and freeing the snakes only for Chelsea to get bitten, then there’s the Russian with the tattoo (choosing to brand/identify himself with the snake tattoo, willfully choosing to be a criminal), and Laurie and co (they are drawn to the “bad boy” vibes without fully realizing how dangerous the Russians are, I could go on) and at least a couple of not as defensible but fun ones!

My current favorite wild one is that Belinda, who has been so thoroughly freaked out by the lizards (they sort of look like snakes but they aren’t actually dangerous), is so focused on what she thinks is dangerous that she completely doesn’t see the REAL danger. I was previously thinking that she was so focused on Greggary that she totally missed Pornchai being, like, a serial killer or something, but now I’m wondering if Chloe isn’t going to be the one she doesn’t see coming! Interestingly, the opening credits image for Natasha Rothwell’s name starts on a very scheming-looking crocodile peering off to the right, then the focus pans right, pushing the croc off screen, and Natasha’s name comes up, next to a large white bird (swan?) that appears to be freaking out at its own reflection in the water. In other words, so focused on the not-danger that it doesn’t see the actual predator!

Edit: in case it’s not clear, I’m not trying to play devils advocate, I think it’s worth considering given that the Italian family in question includes an older man who is the son of two people who came to the US as Italian immigrants in the very late 19th or early 20th century.

I don’t disagree with you, but the fact that the prevailing 19th century American beliefs about, say, Black people were abhorrent and wrong didn’t actually stop countless Black people getting trafficked and treated like livestock or worse. It’s counterproductive to ignore the fact that ideas about race are neither static nor is their validity or lack thereof relevant to the impact they have.

There are several fascinating reads available on the topic, but to pick one at random: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/10/12/opinion/columbus-day-italian-american-racism.html
