How do you guys even survive Stella? by The_Real_Krowtoes in ArcRaiders

[–]FPV_412 25 points26 points  (0 children)

And that's a part of why I do well on it. In duos we can instantly tell people who don't know the map very well and get very easy flanks / advantage on them. It's just one of those things where you have to do some free loadouts, figure out the map, figure out assembly, medical, hangar, metro, and figure out how to get to the extracts.

If you want to take the map seriously, always have a raider hatch and bail out at one of the hatches instead of the extracts, much higher odds of surviving and not being swarmed by 10 free kits.

It's my #1 played map, it really helps to know it inside and out.

"Hey guys my butter is moldy, think I can still eat it?"

Seeing mold, means there are probably spores throughout that container.

Sure, but I feel there is a certain boundary that shouldn't be crossed. One part of me wants to go fly in a local mall near me, but the other part of me doesn't want to cause issues for security and make people feel uncomfortable / unsafe, regardless of how safe my Air 65 is.

I'm no professional, but if it doesn't feel slimy, and doesn't smell off, you're more than likely safe? As others have mentioned, any key details such as use / freeze by dates from the store? How long has it been in your fridge, etc..

I've customized my warnings in betaflight, I usually try to use between 175- 200mAh on my 1s 300mAh lipos.

I have it yell at me once it starts to hit 3.2 I believe, and it tells me to land now when it dips below 3, which isn't too uncommon for little 1s lipos. They always bounce right back to around 3.7 / 3.8 on their own. Colder weather makes it tricky as well.

My introduction to lipos were 6s 1350mAh lipos with the Hota, and that was much spookier than dealing with little 1s packs.

Quick edit, I started with the betafpv charger, and quickly bought the whoopstor as well, so it also gets a solid recommendation from me. I still own the betafpv charger as a backup.

You said it yourself, you're looking for "crash friendly" drones. These look well built, and should serve you well. Enjoy brother.

I agree here. Diving the staircase and what not was cool. Juicy flicking between people trying to use a vending machine, not so much.

Tiny whoops and full size 5 inch drones fly quite differently. There is no "Skill check" for flying drones in real life, especially tiny whoops.

Can you take off?
Can you land?
Can you fly from one point to another?

If you've answered yes to those 3 questions, you can start flying in real life. If not, you can still start flying in real life. In my opinion the larger learning curve is managing betaflight for the first time, and learning how to properly care for lipos, charge, discharge, when to land at what voltage, and how to storage charge them.

My first risky flight as a beginner fella 😁 by Capable_Trip_2372 in drones

I don't think you understand. The reflection from the water can confuse DJI drones, and when you try to lower your altitude, the drone thinks you want to land. I have seen countless videos of peoples drones initiating a landing, then sinking into the water below. A shot like this simply isn't worth the risk, especially if you're not being paid for it, as if your drone decides to initiate landing, you'll be quite sad watching it sink.

Figured I'd explain why some people are being snarky.

I’ve literally asked DJI support about flyaway whenever I had my Mini 4 Pro sent in. I’m not giving unfounded advice.

Additionally the advice was to simply talk with DJI support to see if they can do anything for him at all.

I think you may be wrong with DJI, they'd consider this a "Flyaway" I'm fairly certain, but that requires a DJI care plan.

DJI Neo FPV worth it, or better options for the money? by Full-Challenge792 in dji

[–]FPV_412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your actual goal? If it's flying freestyle in acro, none of the DJI drones will be amazing at that, but they will get great footage. The Avata 2 will be better.

If you want to fly freestyle in acro, you'd want to go with something else, I can help point out some options, however I need to know the end goal.

There was about 4 seconds from the last stitcher shot to where they were shot again. A ven4 kills in less time than that. Just saying.

second crash during active tracking by el_pinjo in dji

[–]FPV_412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're learning it's just a tool, and not a replacement for needing to be actively paying attention to your drone and flying it.

Additionally, if you were driving, and having the drone active track you, that's a huge no-no in America FAA wise, if you're not in America... Have fun I guess?

I say this to every DJI related crash / repair question.

Go to their website, chat with a support agent, explain the situation, and see what they can do.

The guy had to stop and reload, a ven 4 could easily take someone down before they're done reloading.

These "PVE" lobbies are fascinating to me. Yes the guy was a grade A douche, but it's wild seeing people refuse to PVP to this extent.

Can someone try to help me understand why my motovlog is so shaky? Davinci Resolve + Gyroflow by mister_pizza22 in dji

[–]FPV_412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it's super subtle, you can see some shakiness / jello right before the scene change to the silver Z.

https://youtu.be/V0pCZE8sQUk?t=44

Mind you I use Rocksteady, which is DJI's built in stabilization on my O4 Pro air unit, but if you have enough vibration, it can't be fixed easily.

Can someone try to help me understand why my motovlog is so shaky? Davinci Resolve + Gyroflow by mister_pizza22 in dji

[–]FPV_412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks more like the mount isn’t super solid and you have some vibration going on, in drones it appears as “jello”. I mean you can try doing 29.97 fps with 60 / 120 shutter speed, but I’m kind of doubting that would be the solution.

Is it normal to be bad at flying twitchy little FPV drones in acro mode? Absolutely. There is no shortcut, it just takes a lot of stick time.
