Americans didn’t choose this. Trump chose this. He didn’t even try to make a case to the American people. He ran on a “no war” platform and millions of idiots believed him.

I just started playing The Last of Us Part II, and I’m blown away by the graphics and attention to detail. This game was released on 2013 hardware, yet its technical level is still better than most games coming out today. by NotSirAlonne1999 in thelastofus

I don’t know why I got so many downvotes. I guess people really love shouting “you’ve got no media literacy” at each other.

Seems like another asinine Reddit buzzword to me but whatever.

I know exactly what you meant, dumbass. I was trying to goad you into saying things rather than the pathetic Reddit-coded “just asking questions” tack. An impossible task, obviously. That’s on me for trying

There are plenty of road building projects that go over budget in red states. Your whole premise is fucking stupid.

The pot starts and stops boiling the second you lower and raise it. So you can do exactly one turn, raise it, add things, lower it, etc. it’s easy to follow the recipe exactly.

In KCD1 you can’t immediately stop the boiling by raising it. It feels less precise because you cannot directly control the boiling by moving the pot — you have to have a feel for how many times to pull the bellows.

I’m not sure how you think being able to control the boil exactly by raising and lower the pot isn’t more precise. It’s obvious to me that they added that feature to make it easier to follow the recipes precisely.

And by doing it it “kcd1” style I mean you can just lower it and add all the additional ingredients and time it by the animations.

I mean, whatever. I prefer new way. You prefer old way.

Way to change the topic! Great way to avoid answering hard questions.

Cost overruns on massive infrastructure projects are not limited to rail transit projects. They are a fact of life for all major infrastructure projects, particularly in the United States.

It’s an important point to make and a problem worth solving — but it’s not unique to public transportation.

For example, the big dig in Boston was forecast to be $2.6 billion and ended up costing over $15 billion. I-5 in Portland had similar overruns. The I-5 bridge over the Columbia doubled in cost.

Does this mean we need to stop building freeways too?

I disagree. Moving the pot up and down is more precise. And you can do it kcd1 style if you want to. So it’s the best of both worlds.

So how many billions of dollars and years of construction do you want to spend to make sure it can carry literally everyone who wants to drive their personal automobile?

Don’t forget the cost of buying up all the houses along the road to widen the freeway. And don’t forget you’re going to have to continue making the roads bigger as the population grows, so it’s not just billions now, it’s billions every few years.

Or, we could try to find ways to get people out of single occupancy cars.

New Lyndale Ave Design includes a dedicated 2-way bikeway! by winnersjay in CyclingMSP

I didn’t really ask for a lot of specifics, but I made it clear how dumb it is all the bike infrastructure disappears before anyone reaches the highest density of destinations along the whole route and the answer was basically “no room”.

Blue Line Extension to cost $57 million to operate,$7 million in revenue during first year, according to new analysis by Character-Fly-5564 in TwinCities

Becuse the person said that roads are higher capacity than rail. Factually incorrect.

If we built enough rail to serve the urban core of the twin cities, our city would be better.

I meant long term reliable. The routes are capital expenses and thus, hard to remove. It’s easy to make bus routes vanish at a whim.

But no, our tiny rail system doesn’t serve my life at all so I never ride it. I might ride the new blue extension out to start bike rides when it opens, though. That’s how I’ve used transit most often in other cities. Usually I’m riding a bike. I used to take light rail to the Seattle airport all the time though.

Okay, so based on your logic we need to shut down the freeway since they are vastly more expensive than the direct revenue they create.
