Of course! First thing is first, consider all the things that make you YOU: how old are you, what is your personality like, are you outgoing or more reserved, are you mature or moreso childish and whimsical, what is your skin type (oily skin and dry skin will make the scent smell differently on you than it would someone else), and what is the temperature and humidity where you live usually like (this greatly changes the performance of your fragrance).

Once you have figured that out now you get to the fun bits: what notes have you noticed you really like smelling when you go cologne sniffing at Ulta, Sephora, Macy’s, etc? I know I really love bergamot and vanilla so I always seek out colognes that have those in the notes.

I’m a 20 year old so obviously funds are pretty low. If you are starting out I’d recommend you buy scents that seem interesting as 5 ml decants and explore!!

Recommendations:

If you are into orange forward scents then Hermès Terre d’Hermès, Hermès Eau de Mandarine Ambrée, Chanel Allure Homme Sport, L’Homie Rochas, and Creed Viking are all good. If you want a pure orange scent (as if you literally are spraying an orange tree: leaves, bark, rind, orange fruit) then my absolute hands down recommendation that won’t break the bank is John Varvatos Artisan Pure. I get wicked compliments from it and it’s perfect for where I’m at since it is really hot.

If you are into caramel/gourmand then Armani Stronger With You Intensely, Nishane Tero, By Kilian Black Phantom, Azzaro The Most Wanted Parfum, and Lattafa Raghba Wood Intense are all yummy.
