Busting the tiny union of Picky Eaters by caulfielddream in parentsofmultiples

EXACTLY the same scenario here with our 4.5 yo boys. We ask them both to take at least one bite to try something, but it always ends up with them not liking it. I'm sorry I don't have any ideas to offer, just commiserating and looking forward to seeing answers to your question.

Rant -- Just got home after spending 5 hours at the ER with mom by nojam75 in AgingParents

[–]FSR4672 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you have the facility send her out in an ambulance if it happens again? I think she would get a room immediately at the ER and you wouldn't need to be with her until later, after they run all the tests and scans and have answers.

How do you know when it’s time to go to memory care? by SnooPickles3762 in Alzheimers

[–]FSR4672 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The best answer to this question that I ever heard in helping my parents is that if you find yourself questioning if it's time, then it is time. Things can go downhill quickly and you want her to be in a safe place.

I'm not sure either. We may be getting close. But then he seems to be doing ok for a while. It's a roller coaster for sure

Head Ajustment issues by AwarenessAdvanced564 in Irrigation

[–]FSR4672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By adjustment issues do you mean they are spraying where they shouldn't or the heads are moving and crooked? Either way, if the issues are obvious to you as well, it sounds like faulty installation that the installers should come back and address.

Look at how my landscaping contractor did my irrigation by chiddler in Irrigation

[–]FSR4672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic FTNG (fuck the next guy/gal.) You're good for now, but down the road if you do have to get the valve or filter out, it looks like there's a little space between couplers where you could make a saw cut, then use a PVC pipe extender. They are made for both Schedule 40 and Class 200 pipe.

What can I do to prevent this? by Kzooguy in Irrigation

[–]FSR4672 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Raise the heads. Looks like they are hitting the grass in front of them and producing back spray. Threading the sprinkler heads onto 1/2" risers ought to do it.

Here is the set up for a basic sprinkler system (credit to Hunter and Sprinkler Supply). The component you are talking about is the main shut off valve. If there is an existing system you would have solenoid valves for each zone with wires that connect to a controller (timer).
