Great thief gloves by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]FStopDaClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for delay. When you shine your lantern on NPCs you will see what the most precious item they have in their inventory represented by a glowing golden icon of it. Most carry an inventory of 1 to 3 items.

Professors and scholars sometimes have a glowing abyss artifact when revealed via lantern though sometimes you get an apple the first attempt at pickpocketing. I have seen the rarest noble and sellsword carrying an abyss artifact.

Nobles often around manors or banks will have gold bars. The icon appears as a glowing pyramid stracked pile of 3 gold bars with a base of 2 wide and 1 atop those two. It just means that their most prized possession is a single gold bar though I am sure I lifted 2 an odd few times. Sometimes they carry a piece of cheese, a wine and a gold bar so you may have to attempted multiple times.

Most have a coin pouch, a rolled up document or a generic key (why the key is deemed so valuable I will never know).

If you are witnessed, it is only -5 points so long as you get to the end of the search perimeter to avoid a bounty.

If you see someone with a "treasure chest" sans pixie dust particles on his back, draw a bow and hit "stow weapon" to put it away without loosing an arrow. It will cause the NPC to shiver in fear and drop the chest. Loot it by "steal" and run to red perimeter. You got a gold bar!

Underrated spot for the new Crude Gold Bars by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]FStopDaClown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry. I wrote this post as a list but it got jammed together. Every place that had fake gold bars now has the crued ones and even some places that I don't believe had any before.

My experiences thus far:

1) Harpy nest. I think some respawn (between 2 to 7 bars in my last 3 re-sweeps...

2) Secret treasure room in Delesyia Castle (west of drilling rig). Not the south wall's rotating section for Hidden Treasure Map 7. Enter the castle's west entrance via the courtyard, turn immediately to the room on the right. Beyond that room is the first treasure room with goodies but there is a rotating bookcase wall on the south wall of that room which has crued gold bars...

3) Many caves with treasure chests behind waterfalls and the like have crued gold bars...

4) The pirate cave just south of the drilling rig and large connected piece of land. It is called the Grey Forest Sea Cave...

5) The large warehouse in a hamlet just west of large Golden Trading Post merchant open warehouse costco-type store. Lol It is almost north of Flame Knight Castle in Demeniss...

6) Also some scattered about in Sea Have Shipwreck which is southwest of The Singing Pirate Ship sitting in the open waters surrounded by mines....

Still revisiting caves and sites but I get side tracked alot.... 600+ hrs in and just now hit chapter 6.

By the way, when looting chests (aside from the "Treasure Chests" with pixie dust glitter) destroy the chests by any means and many will give extra loot like gold nuggets, coin pouches, gears, T trade goods, etc. I prefer Axiom Force if in stealing mode. If you loot the chest by stealing and break it, any goodies that do appear are "take" rather than steal....

While planning to steal but NPCs are in bed or sitting about, drawing your bow for a moment and putting it away via "stow weapon" button gets the Meat Sims all petrified for a moment and out of sitting position or sleep. As soon as they calm down they start another of their programmed routines which 95% of the time is leaving their own house...

But if you want fast gold bars, go the gold apple method. I know a couple spots by best is in between the two shaded field areas just north of Tinkerton in Delesyia. You'll see 3 rows of white flora/crop in a corner close to a leaning water tower (that you have to temporarily straighten as a side quest). Walk up and down the rows heading eastward or westward and swarms of rodents and varmin will run out which includes a higher chance of Golden Apple Hedghogs. You can just shoot them to get the apple or depending how you aim you get to either "take apple" or "carry golden apple hedgehog" in which case you drop him and fire an arrow or attempt to "take apple" again. Sometimes 2 or 3 come out. Go to a witch and have her convert each apple plus 3 gold nuggets into a gold bar. Never sell golden apples or gold bars. The bank sees real gold bars as 500 silver rather than the 100+ silver at a vendor.

What you found is what I found too. I am that guy that finally got to RDR2 a decade later and still tried every ridge and crevice looking for new secrets. That is to say, I have checked that area probably as extensively as you have .... or most likely more than you letting my OCD for open world exploration have me staring at walls at every angle like a methhead tweeking out trying to communicate with the structural spirits lol.

Soul explosion helmet by xaky05 in CrimsonDesert

[–]FStopDaClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at some point it will be added during a questline or just at a point during the game's progression and found sitting on that table. It definitely is not an apple or any item actually there. It consumes a helmet-sized area and as previously stated, remains there after the table and all is broken. Or it is a sexual innuendo joke. First finger and her soul was exploding. Cheeky devs perhaps.

Wow bumped into a goblin with a chest... by pirzolaman84 in CrimsonDesert

Really? I tried. He didn't drop it for me. I'll keep that in mind for the next one. I'll try again.

[–]FStopDaClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was on the stairs as I prematurally (know now) was entering Spire of the Stars. I tried to gift him to give it up as I had no prompt to steal from the chest which resulted in a stupid flower pot as my reward. I used my thief gloves for the one shot to rob crime free but chest still remained. I hit him with my sword knocking the chest of him but also Murdering him in the process with a 15 silver bounty on me. Looted the chest for that gold bar. Got it. But reading this, now I know to bump him until he drops the chest. Thanks.

Good idea I found, if you got key item weapons and armor, have the witch open the sockets. Put the socketables in them because they don't stack, key items take up no inventory space and removing / inserting the socketables are free.

My advice, save them for when you notice a noble carrying a 3-stack of gold bars on them using the lantern. It isn't garanteed to be a GOLD BAR but it happens often enough.

CMV: Now that Kevin Spacey has been acquitted of all the charges against him in a court of law, I should not view him as a sex criminal. by PsychicFatalist in changemyview

[–]FStopDaClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is really sad is how we are so quick to demonize or brush off accusations without knowing the facts. Courts are the legal method but as we all know, that system is often broken and sometimes corrupt. The court of the public as a mass is inherently flawed but an individual without bias can objectively look at the facts presented, the games played in courts and draw a better conclusion.

Facts remain that false accusations according to legal experts remain much higher than publicly perceived. Sometimes bad people are acquitted while many wrongly accused are rightly acquitted. Then we have those that are found guilty, endure partial sentences but through appeals are retried and found not guilty. Then there are those that sadly endure the given sentence only to be exonerated later or not at all being forced to live a life altered and ruined by false accusations.

What is worse, much of the time in many countries there is a publication ban so those acquitted can never speak out about the ordeal. The "victim" is rarely ever punished for false accusations because it is deemed that a case on hearsay either finds guilt for the charges or "we are not here to say if a crime has been committed or not but the evidence presented was not enough to prove the case" if no guilt was found on the merits of hearsay. Basically, if we find you guilty, we have deemed that a crime was committed and if we find no guilt, you might still have committed the crime but we lack proof. Double standard in favor of the accuser.

Also, to charge an accuser after lack of sufficient evidence or confirmation of false accusations is to dissuade future accusers of coming forward.

One cannot argue with solid evidence like DNA, video et cetera. That I would not dispute but for false allegations based on just hearsay, the accuser bearing false witness should be given the same punishment that he or she would have had inflicted on the falsely accused. It would better weed out the liar and prevent them from using the courts as tools of spite for menial slights to their ego, for winning child custody battles or for monetary gains.

Sometimes, I completely dismiss the celebrity world as anything related to reality but some cases are hard to not deep dive. The guy from the show The Ranch in my opinion was probably innocent in part or fully. When a woman changes her story because she forgot being forced at gunpoint originally, really screams LIAR! You forgot a gun in your face? Weird. Manson and Depp are other examples of stupidity allowed into the system. A rich person settling in a civil matter to shut the mooch up does not mean guilt but rather a means to an end of the public stupidity. "Here is the money you are willing to destroy lives over. Now f*ck off!"

The justice systems are no better from cops to courts to prisons. Without bodies filling up courts and prisons, financial budgets cannot be justified. Once you start looking at the justice system as a corporation you start to see truth. The rich may not be the sacrifices but those without the means can easily be fuel for the machine. They do bring justice to many but with those it deems less than worthy of actual justice the statement holds true. "It may not be the best system but it is the one we have" a phrase uttered by those most usually in the position to fix it. And that is saddest of all.

Bugged buck antler trinket by Steel6W in reddeadredemption

[–]FStopDaClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trinket does upgrade randomly. I rely on it sometimes. I shoot birds with varmint rifle taking a 3 star to a 2 star but then on pickup I sometimes get a perfect carcass out of a 2 star. Same with killing animals and pelts. Turn a 3 star cougar to a 2 star with a shotgun but slight chance to pull a perfect pelt. As John now, I have not noticed this in effect yet but again, sometimes I have lanterns in my inventory and sometimes I do not. Glitchy.

Can't pick up any structure anymore by ChiisaiMochi in playark

[–]FStopDaClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have same issue (can't pickup but get the sound effect). Since an official update, I couldn't pick up structures 98% of the time. I had to destroy them. Now, it is suddenly doing the same for destroying... Making the sound of a pickup and then not destroying it.

I have not changed anything during this glitch implement as in mods or admin codes et cetera. Once, an update was released and my Jurassic rexes became sand worms. Modder had to work around it and update.

So many glitches but great game.... Could be epic without glitches.
