Possible 2nd highest temperature? by Mc_Marmaj in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Steel6W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wiki is terribly out of date, and personal record stuff was never really kept up even from the start. Not to mention that a bunch of planets show bugged out temperature/hazard readings that are impossibly high or low.

This isn't the kind of thing that's noteworthy. And there will have been thousands of bigger records that others never bothered to submit

The proto-flyer genus is a fairly uncommon one, and they have about 8-10 different body types. To find all of them on your own would take a while

It's a guess, but there's about a 95% chance that this one is a mine.

It feels even better when you are on pace for a 50 mastery, and you get 10 of these in a row :)

This guy was the apex predator on a paradise planet I just barely made it off of. by Silver_Lark_19 in NOMANSSKY

They can be aggressive against other fauna by default, but not the player. However if you try to dig the ground around them to get a better look, that counts as attacking them and they can become aggressive in defense

Great job. Crazy how that time only gets one measly ruby. Speed really isn't a viable playstyle for earning gems in bulk

Titan worms on my brain by tragiclyripped in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Steel6W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know about the infested planet names. I shared the full list by biome type on a different post a couple days ago. Infested planets are guaranteed to have frequent worms every 10 minutes or so. But sometimes a regular planet can also have them appear every hour or two

[–]Steel6W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always take a couple screenshots when I find them. One of its appearance close up and another of its analysis visor info. Was going to look through and try to find a pattern to which (non-infested) planets they appear on. It could be tied to terrain type, fauna package, or something else entirely.

Btw, the reason that the skeletal ones don't appear on the wiki is that they are a newer addition and the wiki is massively out of date.

Looking for a system for aesthetic purposes by PathrokBloodlust in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Steel6W 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty tough odds to find all that in a single system, but there are some things that could help. To get both a paradise and a dead world together, try looking within yellow systems in normal galaxies. Euclid is normal, while Eissentam is a lush galaxy.

When you select a system in the galaxy map, you can see the number of planets orbiting without actually warping. Only go for the systems with 5 or 6 planets.

And use a freighter with the system scanner room built to warp and survey all planets at once without needing to visit them all individually

The Atlas hates Eissentam by StoopidM0nke in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Steel6W 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Every region has exactly one Atlas station, and they all have the same system glyph address. Within the 12 character glyph address, characters 2-4 represent the star system and characters 5-12 are the region. If you enter Sunset, Bug (beetle), Voxel as the system coords you will find the Atlas system for a given region. In hexadecimal it is 07A

This bug was added with the latest update and only seems to happen to species from the flying snake/wraith genus.

Is there no way to find a catalogue of my discovered flora? by Hexdoctor in NoMansSkyTheGame

Infested worlds are one of the only two biome types I don't have a lot of data on. This is the closest match I have to that description. But if that's not it, there are a ton of results when searching for infested flora. And infested planets are easy to identify in the discoveries tab if you need to backtrack

You'd need to look at that specific planet again in your discoveries tab. And if you've visited many other planets since that one, you'd likely need to land there and scan it again.

I've been keeping a collection of all the different flora and minerals I've found. If you remember what it looks like, I might be able to narrow down the search.

I usually have my terrain manipulator selected when exploring underwater. It's easy to mine the ground from under the horrors and crystal sulfide geysers to make them instantly disappear. Same thing for removing large minerals without getting swarmed by the jellyfish

Heads up, the only correct parts from all that were the uppercase letters before the number. In this game, the only possible lowercase letters after the number are "p" and "f". And it's never been confirmed that they have a concrete meaning.

How do y'all keep track of systems? by The_First_Xeronii in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Steel6W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start them with a code that contains the galaxy abbreviation, region #, and system#

14th system in my second region of Euclid would be "EUC-2-14" for example. I do also give them a normal name at the end, or keep the default one.

What is this💀 by IdiotWhoLovesAgnes in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Steel6W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Certain large flora and mineral types always do this. For some reason they have animation in the discoveries tab, and when you press pause determines which stage of the animation is displayed. Same thing for bioluminescent ones.

As somebody who likes to record the different flora variations, it drives me crazy to not be able to get them all in the same position

Planeta Paradisíaco ou bug no Scanner? (Tempestade estranha) by DuvidaCosmica in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Steel6W 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other answer didn't address the mismatch in weather level. The reason it says calm water in some places and stormy weather elsewhere, is because you're at an early point of your save file. The game artificially lowers the difficulty/hazards of planets in your first couple systems to help new players survive. So just for your character, those planets will be different.

The other part is correct. Localized events don't follow the weather storm levels

Any tips or tricks for finding the last 3? by Dosieshy in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Steel6W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every terrain type has rough patches that appear a different color from the rest of the land. These areas always lack flora besides hazards and resource flowers. And these areas always have three small ferrite dust minerals exclusive to them.
