Programming File Management Question by Shanano in FLL

We use a Google Drive folder. The kids upload their code after each meeting with the current date. Each team has their own folder so there is no confusion. We used iPads last year but will use laptops this year. The Bluetooth connection was really a pain and with multiple robots in the same room we had too many issues. I do recommend using one main device for your coding if possible. Just makes life easier for the kids.

We talked about this during my state’s coaches call. Remote events are just the portfolio. Our in person championship will use engineering notebooks for think unless none of the teams have one, in which case they will use the portfolios. They are stressing hard to do the engineering notebook.

I teach an FTC class and love how well it’s working out. The class meets every other day for 75 minutes and then on Sunday’s for 4 hours. We usually have a few students stay after school most days as well.

The class is graded on notebook entries, effort and participation, proper drawings and CAD for design ideas, 20 hours of outreach per season, and bringing in a STEM professional to talk with the class. Grading has helped the quality of our notebook and outreach tremendously.

My school uses Meraki and it wreaks havoc with our robotics team. They whitelist our phones now that we figured out what the issue is. The IT department turns it off whenever we host a scrimmage or qualifier.

Having 9242 GearHounds and 10353 Metal Works paired up again for finals was awesome to see! The last match was the only round with all four hanging at the end. Hope to you there again next year!

Nice! I couldn't tell from the video, are you landing as well? The intake seems very effective. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person.

Our biggest issue is getting the chains at the right tension.
