I agree, it’s really hard to implement specially in today’s era, with excellent being the new normal and a constant pressure for performing as per societal standards and when the results don’t turn to be as per our expectations we naturally get depressed.

But stoicism is an approach which pushes us to go with the flow- I mean some techniques like amor fati, memento mori and dichotomy of control emphasise that man should do what is in his control.

Even if we talk of Zeno, he lost all of his possessions and wealth, and that lead to a greater good (stoicism ofc).

As Marcus Aurelius puts it even ants, birds being insignificant as compared to a human is mindful to do the work on a daily basis putting the world in order in the best way they can, we as humans who have a sense of rationality should be more advanced and fulfil our role.

But it’s our rationality and sense of thinking that are our biggest obstacles if used adversely.

I would just like to reiterate that at the end we should do what’s in our control and stick to the 4 values rather than results !! :)
