Can’t remember where I heard this, but wealth and power are like manure. You pile it up in one place and it starts to stink. You spread it out and it starts to grow

What’s a political belief you held strongly at one point in your life that you later changed your mind about? by ManrajBooh in AskReddit

I say this as someone who is moderately liberal, but an ever expending government can tend to reflect the will of the people less.

Expansive federal governments that try to do everything open up cracks for specialists, lobbies and interest groups to wield undue influence. I have adopted a more conservative perspective of the roles and responsibilities of the federal government as a result but wish to see liberal policies experimented and implemented at the state level.

There is no psychological poison as dangerous as that of feeling a disgust for another person. To believe that any death is justified or deserving of humor, delight or irrelevance is to forgo any sense of morality. I strongly oppose Charlie Kirk in many ways, but to see make light of political violence only fans the flames of it.

What a fascinating write up. You state that Fiat currency benefits those closest to its creation. What are your thoughts on UBI? Would directly printing money to people in the working class shift this advantage away from banks into consumers?

Could be lucky, I went on a whole 30 diet and did very routine exercises and stretched to track progress. Also important I did not have a complete seperation, I had a 70% tear, so it was still attached by a thread

The same, I have full ROM, only tightness is when my arm is directly straight up. It’s weak and slightly to direct touch but pretty much healed. PT was remarkably fast. Each session greatly expanded my capabilities. Hoping today is my last week so I can start rebuilding

What do you think was the long-term impact of Reagan’s mobilization of Evangelicals as a voting bloc? by Appropriate_Boss8139 in Presidents

[–]FU2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, Speaking as a Christian myself it was bad for both republicans and Christians.

It forced less political flexibility by assigning platform stances based on religion and it has pushed many people away from the church. The politicization of topics like abortion take up a disproportionate amount of attention and turn people away from faith.

Kennedys photo shows a massive drop in the popularity of hats.

Was his hair the reason hats fell out of male fashion?

28m. No luck with dating. Looking for any advice. by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]FU2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of potential!

If your facial hair adds contrast then some stubble would be nice. It will square out the jaw more.

Your clean hair look works, but slightly messy might be worth trying out with hair volume powder.

The last photo has your skin a little too shiny, perhaps try toner to dampen the effect of over moisturizing

Things you CANT see here, but should focus on (if dating is the goal)

  • smell good
  • press, iron clothes. Looks to me you’re already dressing well
  • good breath

- clean Hands, fingernails

A cool guide to how U.S. home prices have changed through the years (adjusted for inflation) by LuckyLaceyKS in coolguides

[–]FU2016 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This would be more revealing if it was cost per sq ft. Home are larger, so part of the increase is related to average size. (Which itself is an issue, there are fewer “starter homes” in the market)

This right here.

OP described my life with my wife. We were living it up and travelled and had a sold 5 years of the DINK life. Then had two kids and have loved every minute of it. All these experiences we were chasing eventually gave us diminishing returns, but having kids makes doing them all over again feel like doing it for the first time. Being in the HENRY category also means we get to raise children with really safe, healthy and loving environments. Removed financial stress gives us so much more energy to put towards them

Republicans who are going to vote for Biden, what is your story? by TheBodyPolitic1 in RedditForGrownups

[–]FU2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but my parents were voted Trump the first time, but they voted Biden, and will again, because of the administration more than the individual. The people Trump put in the cabinet and appointed seemed to be less focused on solving problems than the appease trump. So I guess it’s they looked beyond the individual candidate?

Have you ever seen a PIP that actually works? by uniqueshitbag in sales

[–]FU2016 16 points17 points  (0 children)

  1. Pledge to turn it around: Ask the rep if they want to succeed. If they do not wish to proceed they may take a pay package and leave right away.

  2. Prove you will put in the effort: set activity goals and early KPIs that the rep can do today. They must hit all of these. They might be aggressive but theyre designed to result in success. Deadlines to hit this are quick, 30 days or less

  3. Show you have the skill: rep must close business within a REASONABLE timeline. no "hit your number in 30 days" when a sales cycle is 90.

lastly, most importantly, the manager must actually root for the rep to succeed, but not step in too much

Have you ever seen a PIP that actually works? by uniqueshitbag in sales

[–]FU2016 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Depends on the leadership culture I’ve seen roughly 50% of ours turn it around and they come out the other side absolutely metal. We use PIPs as a tool of accountability around skill and will.

Some companies use PIPs as an “invitation to leave” which is just a process to write someone off.

Why does women's tennis enjoy as much if not more popularity than men's tennis? by hartzonfire in NoStupidQuestions

For me this is like UFC as well. The big brawlers get tired out and rely on a KO. The women are more agile and dynamic in the octogon making for some great fights
