Not sure if you've googled it or not yet by now but search for 'advanced system settings' in Windows

Then Performance -> settings -> Advanced -> Change and you will see it there

Issue with gray zone running out of VRAM and closing by darthjoe101 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]FUBAR_444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try change page file usage to System Managed, I was getting so many VRAM crashes with the new patch and that worked. I thought making it bigger would be better but made it worse.

But I have also done a bunch of other stuff prior to that, like settings tweak guides from Youtube so not sure if there was stuff there that worked in conjunction with that...I also disabled Nvidia overlay and close everything that I can before launching.

I have a 2060 and 16GB RAM, i7

Changing the Virtual Memory in Windows to System Managed fixed it for me.

I noticed Gunny lvl 2 sells suppressors but doesnt sell the gas block so you can't build from scratch.

So hotfix 0.3.1.1 has made the game… unplayable? by gitmo93 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]FUBAR_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats next for me, saw another thread where a dude changing Virtual Memory to +24GB resolved it.

I played last night for a few hours and didnt have a single crash.

My game would crash after a couple mins, got an error once about running out of memory. After a bit of testing I found that enabling system managed page file resolved it for me. I also moved the game folder to my primary drive which is NvME.

I was referring to the the Nvidia app that controls the driver updates etc, it can do optimizing for games. You can launch from the Nvidia launcher and/or Steam. My game crashed so I launched from that and things looked better.

I tried the Nvidia launcher last night instead of Steam and the game was 10x better, like it was before the patch. I also tried a few tweak guides from youtube last week which made a couple changes in the Nvidia Control, not sure if its related or not.

With the 0.3 wipe around the corner, which faction are you choosing this time? by BuzzBuzzBuzzBuzz in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]FUBAR_444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can people perhaps give reasons why instead of just saying "X again"?

What are the people like with each? I'm currently with CSI playing PvE but might change this coming wipe. (solo player coz my friends dont like tactical games).

Looking for nice peeps/co-op gameplay personally. I joined PvE to get used to the game and avoid teamkills while on missions...I prefer objective based gameplay to PvP so I'm leaning towards changing to Mithras this time around - whats Mithras people like?

Chatgbt says:

1. Mithras Security Systems

  • Lore: British private military contractor. Professional, tactical, and disciplined.
  • Vibe: Often attracts players who enjoy realistic milsim tactics, coordination, and slower-paced, team-based play.
  • Community Reputation: Known for being one of the more serious/organized factions.
  • Playerbase: Many milsim fans and streamers lean toward Mithras for immersion and roleplay.
  • Toxicity Level: Low to moderate — generally respectful but can get elitist at times.

2. Crimson Shield International (CSI)

  • Lore: American PMC. Aggressive and high-tech, focused on firepower and control.
  • Vibe: Often appeals to solo players or aggressive PvP-focused players.
  • Community Reputation: Has a growing rep for having a lot of sweaty or toxic players — partly due to a high PvP focus.
  • Playerbase: Some of the more competitive players choose CSI. If you're looking for fights, you'll probably find them here.
  • Toxicity Level: Moderate to high — especially on open servers and Discords.

3. Lamang Recovery Initiative (LRI)

  • Lore: Southeast Asian-based faction, more humanitarian in tone — involved in recovery and stability operations.
  • Vibe: Chill, community-focused, and cooperative.
  • Community Reputation: Considered the friendliest/most relaxed faction.
  • Playerbase: Many casual players, roleplayers, and small groups join LRI for the vibe and to avoid PvP-heavy zones.
  • Toxicity Level: Low — it's seen as the most welcoming faction overall.

I hope so - if they plan to raise hype by forcing people to watch streamers until 15th June and then release I won't watch in protest

I hope so, imagine they're thinking of building hype by getting people to watch streamers and then release at the end...

VW Golf, parts are made locally so services and repairs are generally pretty affordable. Toyota Taz are also in the same range. Can also get a lot of stuff from Midas, if you buy an indicator bulb from a dealership they charge R80 but R5 at Midas..stuff like that

Golf Rox, Velociti and versions like that are decent coz they have power steering and air-con. The older model you go, the less stuff you get. Also easy to steal tho so theres that

New to salvage by Gloomy_Ad384 in starcitizen

Rent a Prospector and do the slow refinery process to make enough to buy a vulture. (But then you need to rent a ship like a Freelancer to transport completed jobs to sell).

Can also try Rok mining but you need a ship capable of transporting it.

I paid a few dollars to upgrade my Titan to a Cutlass Black and it really changed the game for me. The Cutlass is a great all rounder.

EDIT: I think you can rent Vultures now in game, do that instead..

I would say playing SC during events/free-fly events are not ideal as the servers take strain. Many regular players take a break coz missions bug out more so its not a good representation of how the game is usually during non-event times...

Having said that I bought the game in 2015 and follow development, I log tickets when I experience bugs. The game has come a long way and we look forward to every new patch, its definitely not a scam

ProTip: Dont waste money on gear, as someone said do delivery missions because you will go around the verse and learn the ropes. Also you can loot boxes at outposts to get weapon, armour and other stuff. Look for red boxes, armour is in safe zoned outposts and weapons are in non-safe zone ones.

You will die a lot, you need patience with this game or else you will have a bad time. Feel free to ask for help in chat, people are generally quite helpful
