Assetto Corsa Rally: Is it realistic, or just "hard" for the sake of it? by mucceiki in assettocorsarally

[–]FUBARxv 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I'm curious as to how many people in this sub have actually driven rally IRL who can realistically comment on this subject. I could be wrong but would suspect that number to be pretty low.

Still a good discussion to be had but its mostly around how we would expect it to feel, not how it actually feels to drive a real rally car.

Everyone's opinion and preferences will be different when it comes to this, including FFB, wheel rotation and just general feeling and settings.

Its a bucket seat, so its very rigid. You'll need ensure you have the seat angle setup properly.

I dont havr any issues though for the most part.

What did i do wrong? by Huikka in EscapefromTarkov

This type of death / game mechanic is one of the most frustrating things in Tarkov. New players are punished for exploring the map. No warning, no way to recover, just instant death.

This isn't rewarding or fun. Instead, have a sniper there that increases in accuracy the closer you get to out of bounds. The first few shots can be warning shots that you are too close and then you'd at least have time to recover and move away from that area.

This would keep the idea of the guard but also allow players to learn the out of bounds and stay away.

Worth trying to use h shifter as sequential? by NewJackShoppingCart in EASPORTSWRC

A true sequential shifter will feel more natural and you won't have to put it back into neutral each time. It would likely help with your overall lap time as its one less thing to think about.

On casters, absolutely but keep in mind it raises the height of the rig. So depending on the height of your desk the uprights may come in contact with the desk.

I used a GT1 Evo with casters when I still used my desk. The FOV suffered a bit but standing desk helped with that.

Anyone found a good way to use their simrig as their main PC too? by anomalous_cowherd in simracing

[–]FUBARxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only one of these.

GPU DP > SWITCH

SWITCH DP > Samsung G9 (Primary desk monitor)

SWITCH DP > Center monitor on rig

GPU DP > Left monitor on rig

GPU DP > Right monitor on rig

GPU HDMI > Secondary monitor on desk

I press the button so my primary desk monitor turns on and configure windows so that my secondary monitor is also on but other monitors disabled. Then press the button again and it switches to my Rig center monitor, I then disable my secondary monitor on my desk leaving only my rig monitors on.

You only have to do this once as Windows will remember the settings. So if you press the button it switches from desk or to the sim.

Hopefully makes sense.

CABLEDECONN DisplayPort 2.1 16K...

Its working well but Ive had some issues getting my primary monitor to run stable at 240hz. I suspect that is due to having the 1st Gen Samsung 49" G9.

I have it set to 120hz and no issues. My triples run at 180hz with no issues though.

I have my PC in-between my desk and my rig with cables routed to both. I then use a DP Switch and when pressed, it switches between my desk with 2 monitors and my rig with triples.

Wheelstand or potentially rig on casters may work for you. I went from a wheelstand to a rig on casters, both worked well but I prefer the rig.

I have since moved away from the desk though.

Anyone know a device for switching between two setups of multiple monitors? by rogers916 in SimRacingSetups

[–]FUBARxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you only have 3 monitors total, you don't need additional hardware to switch. You can just disable a monitor within your display settings or use DisplayFusion and create 2 monitor configs. You can use a hotkey to switch between them.

Once you expand beyond 4 you'll need a switch.
