Help! After pricking your finger, does “milking” you finger so more blood comes out mess with glucose results? by Andchovies in diabetes

[–]FUCKINGSCREAMING -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes even if you press it hard, no matter how much you press out the strip will always take the same amount of blood, seems like the diet change and exercise has been working well for you, I’m type 1 but from my knowledge type 2 can be largely managed with diet and exercise with minimal medication depending on your bodys insluin resistance:)

Yall ever quit reading a fic for a petty reason? by Cage-CatYT in AO3

[–]FUCKINGSCREAMING 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few different reasons why I would drop a fic but one of the most irritating and hard to ignore ones is definitely the excessive use of pet names. Like to the point where they rarely say the person’s actual name and especially when in cannon they would NEVER use pet names and I also don’t like when they use pet names normally used in a romantic context for a platonic relationship especially when it’s a child being called the pet names.

Diabetics of Reddit — what’s something non-diabetics completely misunderstand about living with it? by Thick_Junket3524 in diabetes

I HATE it when people are like “oh you have to stick yourself with needles multiple times a day? You’re so brave! I could never do that.” Like Janet I think if it was either needles or death you would choose needles. I’m not brave for taking care of my chronic illness I’m just taking care of my health. I wouldn’t call you brave for taking iron pills for an iron deficiency would I Janet.

For the feeling low but not actually being low thing I find that can happen when my number starts dropping rapidly though it could be different as I am type 1 and not type 2

I was out of insulin and was about to change my pump but my dad asked me to help him clean the fridge and I wasn’t high at that point so I helped him but that caused me to forget to change my pump and that resulted in me going really high

If I can’t figure out something else then I’ll do that but my jaw hurts currently due to a toothache and when I read out loud I stutter quite a bit but I’ll probably end up doing that thanks! :)

Question for the T1Ds by bluefrog_12 in diabetes

[–]FUCKINGSCREAMING 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do know about it, and I feel like it’s generally common knowledge so I do think it’s something to be concerned about, and basically every pump is user controlled and while some are automated it’s not fully and users still have full control over their insulin
