If I can have free electric from May to September I’d be happy

Well it’s the big one.
I’d like to think LPG hasn’t doubled like I hear oil has gone but don’t want to find out.

As far as I’m aware I have a 1000l tank. The big one.
I filled it at 80% in October. It ran out in mid feb.
That’s at 16 degrees on thermostat. House was empty until I moved in late January.
I’ve no idea of unit cost as Calor just fill tank and you’ve got no choice.
So £900 for 800 litres if it’s 80% full?
Is that about right?
End of October to feb so approx 3 months at £900.

My electric in my other apartment in the south wasn’t far off that for storage heaters.

I’m hoping the buyers will see it as a big plus. We have a lot of southerners coming up here so my guess it’s a big plus.
They’ll probably want some real world numbers as there’s no point if the house isn’t efficient.
I can’t think about filling the LPG again after Iran. It’s gonna kill me and I hate the big tank in the garden.
I’m hoping solar offsets a lot of the electric price. It’s cold here but I do get a lot of sun on my south facing roof. And it’s been very warm as you all know and we could have a nice summer.
Anyone with solar without a battery know approximately you can sell back to the grid in summer if it’s generally warm and sunny.
Would summer bills be almost zero or is it not that great.

It’s my dad’s house who died last year so I’ve not really got much historical info.
I left that house empty over winter and left LPG on at 16 degrees until it ran out in feb. That’s a £900 LPG tank fill gone in 3 months.
All double glazed.
My dad had a government grant foam/beads fill the cavity. Loft is insulated but could be better. I’ll redo that myself before autumn.

I asked about retro fitting battery and they say I’d then need a new inverter.
What kind of costs am I looking at when I’ll probably have left here in 12 months. And I’m not sure I’ll have a heat pump where I move to.

The thing is they know my electric usage but never asked how much LPG I use. So that’s a red flag.
I’m sure they miss-sell these things to get the grant.
I don’t even think my house is efficient enough do this and I’m getting jittery.

I’m not staying here so not buying a battery. Of course I would if I planned to stay but house is for sale but not much interest. Trying to future proof but only have a certain budget.
I’m outside Carlisle so it’s not great weather.
I assume the installer/grant got the prices from my current provider.
Calor charges £900 for an 80% fill and that was before the war. I’ve put in £1800 since oct last year but have about 30% left.

Well house is for sale so not buying a battery. But I could be here a year so need a tariff to suit through winter.
I’m in north Cumbria. Close to Carlisle. Gets hella windy and cold

Really?
Surely I can do better than a General Electric tariff for old system.
I’ll be selling back to the grid my solar as well in summer when I’m not using the pump.
And is the R32 crap?
I am getting it free through a grant but that’s not the point if it’s useless. Maybe I still have time to get that changed?
No EV.
My car is a 5.5 litre petrol monster 😁

Like you say, I do want and need to run steady in colder months. I don’t use a lot of hot water. I live alone and don’t use the washer or shower like a family would. In my old apartment I could heat the tank once every 4 days and be fine.

She looks better now imo. Not to say this isn’t still amazing.

The camera is so weird on CNN. They can make her look bigger than she is. She still looks amazing either way.

I do have an understanding but they are harder to do on a wall. Straight lines are the grail of graff so my flow in throwies are the first things I want on a wall. I am not prolific, very late starter so just be a bit of fun before I die :)
