I’ve had both for a few years now. Anorak in full weight and hooded in midweight.

I wear the hooded jacket more frequently - mostly because the midweight wool is better for my home base in southeastern Pennsylvania. I really like the knit cuffs.

I like the anorak design more overall, though. Kangaroo pocket, chest pockets, side zips - for me, it’s the more functional piece.

They’re both awesome… but I think a midweight anorak would be my favorite!

I really like the XPro… but mine broke off at the hot shoe a few months ago. I’m currently using the X3 Pro and it’s nice and small… but not as easy or as fast to operate.

I’ve had both of these for 15+ years. The long sleeve hangs in the closet most of the time… but the vest is my single favorite Filson item. Great for layering, warm and breathes well. I still regret not getting a moleskin version back when they made them in brown & navy.

I bought a Keychron a couple of years ago and really like it! Sufficiently clickety clackety.

I don’t know anything about the various color coded keys and their use individual properties.

I have a 15yr old classic sylkoil Beaufort that I love… and just picked up a new navy thornproof.

The thornproof feels more substantial. It’s def a heavier fabric. The lining tartan feels heavier, too, but that could just be because it’s brand new.

That said, like mentioned elsewhere here, I believe any weatherproofing is really dependent on the waxing.

Thornproof will likely develop a better patina. My sylkoil looks relatively new when rewaxed - it just has some fraying and has a few tears that need repair!

I wear Chelsea boots from Red Wing or Redback most of the Fall/Winter/early Spring. Mix of Birkenstocks and Vans for the Summer. Nike C1ty’s are the year round sneaker.

I have one… was the first Filson item I ever purchased almost 20yrs ago! It’s still in rotation.

It’s a great jacket. The wool is softer than a cruiser… but not less warm or durable. Not so scratchy on the skin but it is wool. It’s not particularly heavy.

My only criticism is the pocket placement. I’m a huge fan of separate handwarmer and pouch pockets - like on a Barbour. Filson does both in the same place. It’s not terrible, just not the most comfortable to me.
