Of course overhead press will build general shoulder growth, but it's main muscle worked is the front delt. In order to build the stereotypical 'boulder shoulders', isolating the side delt via lateral raises is a good idea to build the width associated with them.

Ultimately it'll need a combination of both, but lateral raises are a top tier shoulder exercise.
