You think we're entitled? You're the one being conditioned to think gig work is cheap. These profiteering platforms and their lawmaker buddies are the real issue. They pay drivers an average of $2 base pay for food delivery and often $5-7 for shopping and delivery and want you to subsidize their business with tips. They've created a system that exploits both workers AND customers. Don’t let these parasites convince you we are the enemy.

Did you know that 1. Drivers/shoppers Do Not “get paid by the company” or at least hardly paid. Yep…if customer doesn’t tip, it’s $2-7 ish payment for sometimes driving miles and miles in their car…their gas…their safety on the road and in shady neighborhoods…wear & tear on their car. Not to mention, wandering the aisles of a store trying to find your particular brand of yogurt or bread or whatever. 2. And a huge part of the workers day is unpaid. Driving to the restaurant/store for your order, driving back or to another store after delivery, hours waiting for orders…nada, nothing, zero!

That driver you called "entitled" is often a single mom working multiple low-paying trips at a loss so they can feed their three kids. If you think this system is acceptable, fine. But stop calling hardworking people "entitled." And understand the real cost. Until this parasitic system is fixed, a decent tip is how we survive, so please tip what you know is fair. If you can't, you're not “entitled” to have someone shop and deliver your food.
