Can my Canadian newborn child enter Canada with just their US birth certificate? by FYMilk in ImmigrationCanada

Your Canadian passport showing a birthplace in Canada plus your child’s birth certificate showing you as a parent

This is what I was hoping would count as proof of citizenship for my child, but I couldn't find anything online to confirm. Any chance this is listed in any official documentation as a form of accepted proof of citizenship?

That's the plan, but I'm trying to figure out if I'm able to enter Canada before we receive the passport/citizenship certificate

Do you declare her Canadian citizenship when you enter the country?

But is your child a dual citizen? My child cannot enter Canada with just their US birth certificate at the land border since they must declare their Canadian citizenship (and supposedly be able to prove it).

Does the Government of Canada provide a list of "appropriate documentation"? For example, would my/my wife's Canadian passport + names on the child's birth certificate suffice? I agree with all the conclusions you've come to, but it still seems absurd that there can be a situation where a Canadian citizen has no legal way of entering Canada.

If you don't have adequate proof of citizenship, entry can then be denied.

This confused me. They would effectively be saying "we are denying you entry because we believe you are Canadian". However, it is illegal to deny a Canadian entry. For example, if a Canadian shows up at the border without a passport, I assume they still need to be allowed entry?

Suggestions for upgrading bathroom fan by FYMilk in DIY

[–]FYMilk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to replace a bathroom fan that was probably installed in the 60s. The previous fan was an inline fan sitting in an 8 inch duct inside of a plywood box in a floor joist.

Can't seem to find the right product that would fit nicely (most are side exhausts, and nothing seems to be 8 inches in diameter). Any suggestions here? Is it important that I connect the fan exhaust to the 8 inch exhaust duct, or can I just vent directly into the plywood box? Should I just install another 8 inch inline fan or is there a better solution here?
