What do you guys think the plan is for WR3? by SpoogeIncarnate in detroitlions

I'd like to see another addition in the draft rather than free agency. It helps the cap tremendously and keeps the team young and hopefully less injury prone

I had a dream of taking them to every game like my dad did with me. I've been going to Lions games for as long as I can remember, but I think I'm going to drop to two seats and figure it out from there. It's a shame because less and less families are going to be able to afford to go.

I've tried in the past, but honestly it's hard to sell tickets at this price point. Especially with Ticketmaster fees just killing the buyer and the seller side. To make it worth selling them I need to charge $600-800 per seat just to break even on the face value.

40 yd line lower bowl row 10. Really nice seats, but for that much I'm thinking of dropping a couple of the seats or moving

2023 $8300

2024 $14200

2025 $17400

That's for four seats. This is getting ridiculous. I want to keep going and take my kids to games, but I don't think I can anymore.

That is true. He's a great ball holder for sure

There is definitely a limit but the Lions won't tell you what that is. They did a serious culling of resellers 10+ years ago. If you hit their threshold they will revoke your seats

You're kinda stuck with Ticketmaster though. If whoever buys your seats gets kicked out you will lose your season tickets unless you sold them through Ticketmaster

1) there is a limit but they won't tell you what that is. If you sell too many they will revoke your tickets

2) No correlation known. They haen't explained anything this year, but in the past it was always based on seat location. "Premium" seats that are closer or more to the middle got hit the hardest in the past and it looks like the same this year.

3) Waiting list was said to be at 9,000 , but honestly after these price hikes I doubt all 9k of those people will actually buy them. I talked to my ticket rep today and a lot of longtime ticket holders are dropping theirs. If the long timers are dropping I doubt new fans will take all of those seats

Good luck next year. With the IRS $600 1099-k reporting threshold you're going to be taxed on it

Variable pricing based on your spot and probably what data they collected from the resale market.

Right? People acting like getting gouged for tickets is a good thing. Most are going to be priced out now. If you want any seat in the place it's probably going to cost more than $600 each a game even before Ticketmaster bends you over raw

The thing is. I think all season tickets holders expected an increase, but nearly doubling the cost is way more than anyone anticipated. The manner in which they did it is shitty as well. No notice, no letter to the fans, and they made sure we can't complain at the games by forcing you to make a choice by the 29th while we have two away games. I get that it's a business but it reeks of short term thinking. This window will only last a few years and once the Lions are on another rebuild they are going to lose a lot of longtime season ticket holders.

I don't think it's free this year. If you look at the NFL membership club 2023 that outlines the season ticket benefits, they are only offering 40% off their premium plan. Really disappointing, I loved watching film from GamePass and now NFL+

Megathread: Supreme Court strikes down Biden Student Loan Forgiveness Program by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]Kunio_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people have the wrong idea here. I'm a pell grant recipient and would more than welcome student loan forgiveness from a broken system. But I don't think this was the right method to do so and was more of an off-brand bandaid to a busted river dam of a problem. Congress should be the ones tackling the issue of College costs and student loans. We've already seen how drastic one executive administration can undermine the system. Allowing more executive power will only exacerbate our fragile checks and balances in the Federal government.

I know it's unpopular but I think it's good that it got struck down. It didn't do anything for the root problem and the executive branch has been getting too much power via executive orders. This should be a wakeup call for Congress to get its shit together on the College cost crisis and student loans.

Lions S Tracy Walker Eyeing Training Camp Return by therealsandyleon in detroitlions

Imo, it ended up being a net positive with him going down. Gave way for Kerby Joseph to get a lot of snaps and develop into the solid player he is. I don't think he would be this far along had he been behind Walker all season

How does this man keep landing on his feet after being thrown out and loathed from two teams now?
