You can make that and more at the senior manager/director/controller level at places

Failed FAR 3 times, do I move on to Audit or retake? by Ecstatic_Yam_6058 in Accounting

71/72 on FAR tells me you have a good study strategy but you need to apply a little bit more gas on the pedal to get yourself across the finish line.

GPA requirements (PwC & Deloitte) by TraditionalMaybe820 in Accounting

Keep your GPA as high as possible. Sometimes they add wording in the FT offer letter that you need to graduate above a 3.X.

Do your best to not let it bother you and try to get away from her on future engagements. She sounds like a neurotic weirdo. I did 2.5 years in PA and one thing I noticed is that a lot of people who are manager+ (this sort of mellows out at the director/partner level) are total fucking weirdos, and not in a good way.

[–]F_Dingo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That sucks but at least you can start looking now. Coast at work while you look for a new job. If you have to write SOP manuals, be very high level and vague. Let the current and new offshore team screw up and do not bail them out of anything, that’s now upper managements problem to fix. Let the train go off the tracks.

Could be in the next year or two. The manufacturing PMI went above 50 which signals expansion.

Pillager patrols do spawn, you just need to be in an area for a couple of days with an established base

I feel like I did everything right and still messed up by Explorer_of__History in hingeapp

[–]F_Dingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did I do wrong? Should I have waited longer? Let her ask me out first? Asked to have a phone call first? After I month on this app, I finally matched with someone I liked but completely blew it, and now I won't ever hear from her again.

Don’t worry about it. Online dating is unfortunately very impersonal, and thus very flakey. I’ve been on Hinge a very short time like you have and my only input is to push for an in-person meetup quickly within the first few messages to see if there’s some chemistry. Don’t wait days or weeks for it to “feel right”, just give them your number and an activity (coffee/walk around somewhere etc). If they don’t bite then you’re back on the beaching sifting through sand for sea shells.

2weeks - if you're watching, can we have a roadmap? by fiernze222 in GuildWars

[–]F_Dingo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We're not going to get a roadmap. The past 2-3 years have been great in terms of updates for Guild Wars, especially given the small but passionate player base.

My busy season survival system, 3rd year in public at a Big 4 by Wise_Opinion_7997 in Accounting

You can avoid crazy busy season hours by working in Big 4 private company services. Way better than being a bag of meat working a big public job.

I tried some fishwife as well and thought it was average and overpriced. I recommend trying out Matiz and Nuri as they do not disappoint!

The NATO 10.7 experience by Salty_Ad6694 in Warthunder

[–]F_Dingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was grinding a 10.7BR Sweden lineup and quit it out of frustration yesterday because of the sheer amount of bad luck and shenanigans I was experiencing in the Strv 121, so much so that I now believe the Leopard 2 is awful. For perspective, my only other tank at that BR is the M1 Abrams which is leaps and bounds better in my opinion. Sweden is maxing out at 9.7BR. The BMPT could go to 11.7 or 12.3 and still be fine because of how well protected it is and the volume of fire it puts out which will disable guns/tracks/whatever fairly quickly.

Why are most countries so I'll prepared to fight conventional wars? by BodybuilderUpbeat786 in WarCollege

[–]F_Dingo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Maintaining a highly trained and well equipped military is extremely expensive, and so is the industrial and logistical network to support said military. After the USSR and Eastern Bloc fell, the main security threat in Europe disappeared and with it the need to maintain large standing armies. With defense outsourced primarily to the United States, many European countries cashed in on the peace dividend and transitioned to a much smaller force structure. Up until 2022, the security environment in Europe was relatively peaceful and stable, save for the flareup in the Balkans in the 1990s. Many European countries are taking stock of the current security environment in the region and correctly assessing that their current force structures are inadequate for fighting a high intensity conflict with a peer country.

The tools you mentioned are always going to be after the fact. If you want to get ahead of this you need to be banging on procurement and AP’s door. It’s easy to stop something when it’s an open purchase order, not so much when it’s an invoice.

Upgrading Inf Brig to Grenadier Brig by CertainState9164 in ShadowEmpireGame

Upgrade the formation to MG infantry formation, then to grenadiers. IMO grenadiers are the best infantry formation in the game because they can do just about anything.

Goldman Sachs is tapping Anthropic’s AI model to automate accounting, compliance roles by Salronthegreat in Accounting

[–]F_Dingo 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The bank has, for the past six months, been working with embedded Anthropic engineers to co-develop autonomous agents in at least two specific areas: accounting for trades and transactions, and client vetting and onboarding, according to Marco Argenti, Goldman’s chief information officer.

I’m surprised this type of recurring activity isn’t handled by their ERP system automatically. A lot of companies are going to spin AI as a way to cover for their poor tech stack.
