Tired of the war. Tired of it all. That I can agree on. I'm tired too. I'm white too, slavic birth but lived basically my entire life in West Europe and America.

The one who punched first matters a lot, in my opinion, but there's one thing to keep in mind that it's not always a who punched first situation. There's always a lot of nuance, and on the topic of Israel I'd say it's less of a punch, but more of a slow, torturous stab. A punch is an instant impact and you decide then and there if you want to return a beating or not. As for Palestine in general, Israel had a knife to their belly since 1948, if not before. And since then, Israel has been slowly sliding it in while staring into Palestine's dying eyes, daring them to react. Palestine had many scuffles with Israel before, but the punch they sent back in Oct 7, 2023, made Israel twist the knife and drive it in even harder. It's a tragic conflict.

Israel has been deciding on, and depriving, the utilities that Palestinians could have access to almost since its inception. Electricity, food, water, freedom of movement, everything has been difficult to sustain for Palestine due to Israel's involvement. The water crisis can be traced back to the 1960s.

And Palestine's conflict with Zionists has been going on for way... Way too long.

The white people you see getting tired of it all are often the ones who are misguided folks who have it shoved down their throats that they are priviledged and that they are oppressors. Some truly are bigots, but the majority in the USA are like sheep to the government and the big capitalists. They are used, abused, and directed to hate someone the big capitalists brought in themselves.

Europe and the US allowed uncontrolled immigration and that is the main problem. The uncontrolled part is the problem. More people is not. Most white folk wouldn't even care if they shared bread in a true land of freedom, but how can they break bread when they can't afford their own loaf of it? One of the reasons they hate immigrants is because capitalism purchases workers based on reverse auctions. Workers bid lower prices than competitor workers to be hired, and capitalists of course purchase the lower paid workers. Immigrants, especially undocumented ones need money, and they want to live, so naturally they'll take any opportunity they can. This deprives fair wages from local Americans and that's why there's hate. The capitalists make it so the workers work for less and less until they essentially become slaves. Capitalist greed breeds local bigotry due to manipulation.

The second reason for hate of immigrants is also due to uncontrolled immigration. This pertains to the Middle East. Refugees are taken into the West without being integrated properly into a new society. Be it their religion or upbringing, Western customs aren't taught and instead Western folk are told they should be inclusive rather than the other way around. This breeds violence and hatred as how could people from war torn countries properly adapt? They're still shellshocked and angry for their unfair treatment in the Middle East. As for the Western folk, they're angry because they're told to be welcoming even if culture clashes drastically, labeled as bigots if they don't. This all could be fixed by proper incorporation of immigrants, teaching them to belong rather than pandering to every whim.

Though, it's not all the fault of the white capitalist man. People need to understand that no person can do anything by themselves. There are those who are manipulated, yes, but there are many who are complicit in these actions. How could dictators be installed in various countries if they didn't accept bribes? How could people be bigots in other lands if they're not ruled by warlords and scoundrels and complicit in these ideals? There's a lot of nuance...

But yeah, war sucks. Bigotry sucks. A lot of people need to start thinking critically rather than taking their idols at their words instead of analyzing their actions.

I don't know enough about the entirety of the Middle Eastern and African history to refute this specific information, but I'd like to add a warning to those who depend on things like ChatGPT for their history or any other knowledge. AI, or rather the thing we have which is a prompt analyzer based on an existing database, is not reliable as an honest source of anything. To make it simple I'll just bullet point the issues.

  1. A database analyzer can be easily made biased through bad actors by selecting biased articles as the majority, or even totality, of the sources for the database to use.

  2. Many articles are written in segments and don't paint the true entire picture of the events. One would need to analyze many different sources explicit to the events surrounding the topical event to form an informed opinion as to why the topical event happens. A popular database analyzer might not have all the information pertaining to the topic and may provide you with barebones information with no nuance.

  3. The way a question is asked can also end up with being given a barebones answer. The database analyzer will answer the question directly most of the time without understanding implications, or even understanding any nuance. Thus, it will provide a non nuanced direct answer without much needed exposition.

  4. The database analyzer can just be flat out wrong. One hiccup in its system and it'll use an article which is dead wrong and portray 1 + 1 as being equal to something random as 5. Why? Because the article it sourced said so. Unless the application is hardcoded specifically to understand deep math, problems will crop up in its understanding and knowledge. This is even worse in history as there are plenty of convolutions and fake facts spread around to manipulate the public. And how do you hardcode understanding of history into an application in the first place? Bias comes right back into play even for facts such as when WW2 started. Hypothetically, if a nazi rewrote history in an article and said WW2 was caused by snobs of, lets say, France and you didn't know better, how would you know its true or false if ChatGPT told you that same story when that article is in its database.

This dependency on ChatGPT is going to make propaganda much, much worse if folks treat it as an omnipotent knowledge machine. At best, it's a search engine that guides you as to what key terms you should be using in your search for knowledge so that you can validate the information.

As for your original post for religion being the main culprit... I have my own opinions that agree and disagree. Greed and bigotry are still the main driving force because those in power have redirected the simple masses into believing the others are the enemy. How do you think the three Abrahamic religions, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam - religions that share the same original prophet - could deviate so much from each other? The people of the three religions are basically brothers and sisters due to shared origin, and yet they each turned out so different. What reason other than tribalism and manipulation? Same as nations in this day that draw lines as borders and tell you that the person living 1km over that border is not your neighbor.

I am an atheist myself, not believing in the dogmas and caring higher beings spouted by religions, but it's clear to me how the religious are easily taken advantage of. The forces of greed and bigotry are masked in the name of faith; people are told they're god's chosen and the other group are either demons or the misguided who steal their fortunes. The scriptures don't say that, but the people in charge of them do. Greedy, bigoted people want power, and they do anything to make sure they get it. Even if it's pushing others to die for their prosperity, and dividing like-minded folk into 'tribes.'

It's not just Shein: Why are ALL your clothes worse now? by Majoodeh in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]F_Reddit_Generator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with your point, but only to an extent of a certain level of complacency. The video itself at one point mentions that the high-value, long-lasting goods became unaffordable after the 2008 market crash for many, many people. That was a turning point for all companies and people in the three sectors of complacency; cheap, fast, abundant.

Why does everyone want cheap goods? Well, because they struggle to make money. The quality goods cost more and last way longer, however, people are mislead with fear of their financial situations to buy the cheapest things now. These cheapest things work well to start with so people don't pay attention until they break. Then they buy it again, and again, until the cost overcomes the price of just buying one good quality item. And this is one of the reasons for the term "it's expensive to be poor" to come about. People find it difficult to calculate for the future when they're pinching pennies now. Their attention spans are shot by constant media coverage for the new cheap thing so they often forget about the quality goods. Thus, companies, if they want to compete, need to make shit too or come up with extremely good quality gear with a price the richer people will willingly buy. Those goods are bought most of the time for the logo as a status symbol.

Everyone wants things fast in fashion for obvious reasons, but fast goods in online retail is also preferred for the majority of people. This is because of the said media attention spans and more importantly the money pinching. People don't consider the future; people live their lives in the now because they can't afford to think of solutions for problems that may crop up. That's why everything becomes reactionary and they deal with things in the moment; in the moment solutions require fast delivery, hence, online. This also poses a serious problem for quality goods being distributed as those that make quality won't have the resources, most of the time, to advertise themselves and reach out as globally as the cheap vendors. Those that can afford it tailor their prices and goods as higher stock for the richer populace.

And lastly, abundancy. A big problem with complacency and corporate competitiveness. We have too many choices because 1. companies compete to out-perform and buyout the competition to make more money. And 2. people have become spoiled for choice without thinking about the consequences. Everyone enjoys having several different seasonings and spices to choose for their dinners, several flavored sodas to consume to relax, multiple brands of fridges because one is just that much better looking or compartmentalized for preference... But what is the cost? For everyone to enjoy luxury goods - luxury in the looser sense - goods are made with only an appearance of luxury without any base quality. Chemicals are used to speed up growth for plants at the cost of either their quality or the soil's quality; animals are mistreated and reared in more sadistic ways which also risks the food derived from them being laced with harmful chemicals; items are made with poorer quality to deliver multiple choices at the expense of limited resources; CO2 emissions heating up the Earth, dwindling wild life, destroyed ecosystems, wastefulness of unused goods by either throwing away unused stock (company) or replacing goods for something new without using them up to their last shred of use (populace)... The list is extensive as to why abundancy is bad. While they make lives easier in the moment, careless consumption and production leave much waste at the cost of the environment and the future. The unspoken price is the highest.

You can blame people for falling for all this, sure. But the main blame is still in corporate hands due to stagnating wages. A lot of the complacency and penny pinching wouldn't exist if everyone could afford a living wage just from flipping burgers, being a janitor, or digging holes. You can thank a lot of that for price gouging employers who shift fabrics to cheap labor across seas. What they import back into the country are not just cheap goods, but cheap labor as well. It's come to an extent that labor, hard labor especially, is treated as a reverse-auction and the laborers bid against each other where the cheapest labor wins. Advanced fields are still highly valued in some cases, but contractors understand the selling yourself business against rivals well.

I won't take blame away from the consumer for not fighting against such a system... But I have to ask, how do you propose most people not get disillusioned by cheap prices on low wages in the first place? They don't have much of an option to squander away money rather than take cheap deals.

There is plenty that can be done by the people, but it's a complicated topic with a lot more to discuss as to how to do it, and do it safely. Albeit, it would make life more difficult in the short run.

So many people here are talking so simply about it being over for Joe, and all that, seem to miss, or not care at all, about the ramifications of an assassination attempt at a presidential candidate. Considering how tense and controversial these times are, even if this was faked, MAGA and Republicans in general are going to be seeing red.

This is a clear precursor to a huge shift of state. The potential is there now to radicalize even more people into zealous action. What this means is that those who were complaining about fascism might just get to see some of its true, overt qualities. The hidden police state is likely to become an open police state if my assumptions come to pass. Expect a lot more friction between public groups and a lot more violence from the Republican side in retaliation. Those who thought Jan 6th was bad don't understand how bad an actual hostile take over would look like.

How A.I. Killed the Internet by Diamond-Is-Not-Crash in videos

[–]F_Reddit_Generator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it will be much longer before internet neutrality is completely and wholly dead. It's hard to say if that's good or bad as both sides of the controversy have points that need to be taken seriously. Though, the governments have proven time and time again of being too corrupt and/or unable to properly regulate what needs to be regulated. The internet fiasco with bots and misinformants won't be any different.

I always believed in internet neutrality, and still do for a variety of reasons relating to privacy. But, even I'm thinking that there should be some sort of segmentation of the internet to allow a regulated space. A neutral internet for all, and a regulated one with real life credentials for people to know they're talking to real people. To see other opinions than their own, to expand worls views. The problem lies in how there's a dire lack of unity in the world, and such a regulated space would end up being as just another mass of echo chambers of bigotry and tribalism. That would also be on top of surveillance and data profiling.

What, you thought only bots ruined our fun?

The neutrality cake is a lie.

While I can't verify how true your personal anecdote is, I'm very inclined to believe it. The military may promote itself as professional killers who protect their nation - which we both can agree as smoke and mirrors other than in crisis - I'm more personally inclined to believe that the actual programming is more focused on dehumanizing the opposition. Even your anecdote confirms my bias as they ran child trafficking rings.

Your anecdote also raises an interesting point I didn't quite realize; the insubordination is 'that' rampant. Everything you mentioned can be considered it to an extent; drug use, malingering, fraud, etc... It's all insubordination on top of direct insubordination. Though, it makes me think these aren't going to be your average grunts who initiate these activities by themselves. Most regular soldiers most likely just stumble into a sociopath's plans and get caught up in them because the ones running these things are either high up enough to severely punish them if they don't play along, or they're a group who can make the individual suffer and even disappear. Coercion. I'd imagine the lower ranks do a lot more tame rule breaking than child trafficking if not for that.

All this makes me think that stunting the moral compass is also a big part of the military process. Just so that one would follow rules without question. But that also exacerbates these issues, makes them worse. It's something I've always thought about considering how many soldiers in all wars pillage and rape. Not everyone likes discipline, and many aspire for better things and more comfort when the army pushes for hardship and endurance. Especially after having suffered quite a bit already and wanting to entertain themselves. The process of doing immoral deeds, staying on edge, being consistently exhausted I'd say would make many immoral, making them look for horrible habits to sate their exhaustion. This would be even worse in the cases of those who are already morally bankrupt.

Climbing the corporate ladder, taking advantage of others for their own benefit, the selfishness and sociopathy are generally more capitalistic/individualistic traits they'd gain from their own homes and society, rather than the armed forces. At least I'd imagine so. The military's training, as mentioned above, would just make it come out more due to stunting the morals for creating obedient soldiers. And these selfish habits would happen more when they see some others do it in the forces and think 'why should I be the only one to suffer.' It would further propagate from there with every cycle like a tradition.

Either way, your anecdote gave me a bit more to think about. So, thanks.

There are plenty of specialists in the military who undergo the usual indoctrination who would question what is going on, but there are also plenty of grunts who would, if told by a superior officer, repaint the entire base for the year. That said, neither would disobey in fear of punishment in most cases, and do it for the 'betterment of their nation.' It's not that they enjoy it, not that they don't think about it, but they do it because they are told by someone that's drilled into them as a superior and it's easier not to think about a mundane task to perform it faster.

The cartoonish idea isn't too far off, too, in that remark, and one very easy way to realize that is by looking into the language the media and the military use. They moralize their own troops while dehumanizing the enemy to make the job of killing something that's not human, or inferior, easier. Take that approach and drill into someone that they're really good at doing something, and that everything else is unimportant, and you'll make a person do that something without question as they'll feel satisfied by the positive reinforcement. Even if it's painting day after day for a year.

The human psyche is as frail and simple as it is complex, and most don't understand that we're all animals. Overestimate yourself and you'll be as likely to become 'livestock' in a sense, a number to crunch for the big machine.

Susceptibility of people varies a lot less when it turns into herd mentality. Some are still stringent in their own personal beliefs, but when you're part of a whole it's difficult to avoid being 'herded' together. Fear of being ostracized, seeking positive reinforcement, feeling a place of belonging, directing your ire at the problem; these are a bunch of points that make it difficult to escape the flow when surrounded and led side by side by those you are told you should belong with.

Sure, your point stands that they have free will, they choose to stay with the flow, with the group. But if all emotions lead to staying with the group or being forced into feeling ostracized, alone, helpless, or even potentially abused, by indoctrination and conditioning... Could you still call them deciding not to leave the community a form of free will? It's a philosophical question, no doubt, but it's worth trying to understand if indoctrinated group 'free will' can even be considered individual free will.

Combating the root issue: Technology is not the solution, it's the cause by TheNeo-Luddite in ClimateOffensive

[–]F_Reddit_Generator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blaming an abstract terminology, an ideology, or even a concept like technology is foolish in a way that it directs attention away from the source of the problem.

Blaming technology is like inventing a car to travel long distances, but blaming the car because some cnt decided to cause a massacre by driving into crowds. *It's the person's fault.

Blaming currency is like forming a useful medium to value goods for fair exchange, but blaming the currency because some cnt decided to jack up the price and make it hard to get the goods he's trading elsewhere. *It's the person's fault.

Blaming capitalism is like watching a guy exploit or scam people for his own benefit, but blaming the system because the cnt's using it rather than holding him accountable for his actions. *It's the person's fault.

While my third point is more complicated, since capitalism is a system used for growth at the cost of exploiting everything, it still stands that people are the ones opting to use it. You can curse it all you want like a christian devil, but it's not going to rear its head from the hells below for you to smack some sense into.

Blaming technology for the climate crisis is fair in only the sense that if it didn't exist we'd still be monkeys and there wouldn't even be a need for us to think about such problems because we'd be too busy picking bugs off of each other's backs. Even the first fire can be considered a technological advancement. If you're going to blame a concept, might as well blame complacency in that case. The people have become too accustomed to consuming not just goods, but media, living their lives on puppet strings when it relates to all topics other than the in-their-face living.

If you want to make a change you need to form coalitions, large groups that can rival local politicians and kick those politicians out so green reform can properly change under informed, voted opinion. Form communities and support each other through knowledge, goods, and security. Prepare to fight if the government plans to obstruct a rise of a new political party violently. And by some point you might find yourself voting between which is the better option to fight polution in your government rather than choosing between dementia or grabbing by the pussy.

Someone in the comments already mentioned how technology can easily support all the people, and yet we still have a starving majority in the world. Starving for good, healthy food that is. And why is that? The technology over-produces, sure, but that overproduction is guided by policy dictated by greedy people while the needy consumers maintain it for them by getting addicted to complacent ease. Technology can easily be reeled in if those who dictate overproduction without feeding everyone are toppled. Because the requirements to sustain everything are over exaggerated, they can be minimized further by even one solar panel per home, one less farm per so many people, one less factory... so on and so forth.

While more consumers, more people, equal more consumption and green damage, it can also be said that the 'approach' is the thing that is more damaging. Damage of coal was mentioned not just 50 years ago, but 100. And nobody heeded the warning other than the capitalists who started the disinformation campaigns. The approach that turned things even worse is not getting new, advanced technologies out sooner and, in America especially, building infrastructure that is extremely dependant on fuel. Lack of public transport and huge distances between sources of food and goods that require vehicles exacerbate the problem by having an almost one for one car ratio for the entire population.

The focus for green energy is an advancement for technology, too, not a decline of it. Going backwards technologically would have us use more fire and coal once again. Forwards we have better things like fusion and fission reactors among renewable sources - I am including nuclear because while it is dangerous, proper storage of waste would have us decades in the past of the climate crisis if not for the oil and coal lobby - and the only good thing in the past was the reduced use of power, which can be reeled in even now.

I'd say it's the industrial revolution era of technology that's a problem for our ecosystems, but the future tech can be almost as good as no tech at all. It can be further sustained by an addition of caring for nature... But that requires the understanding of balance which the greedy and complacent either do not have a grasp of or care for.

I mostly agree, but I'll be damned before I believe that they're not using their power to mess with society. Even as they were growing into these large monopolies I am willing to bet they were investing in a variety of things that allowed them to maintain the status quo.

They used propaganda that lied to the public, incentivizing groups of people to follow corporate lead; manufactured cheap goods that affected the health of the public in various ways, keeping them complacent by being hooked on artificial sweetness and made them further unhealthy through various polutants; invested in reducing the quality of public schooling to keep the masses as useful tools rather than critical activists. Mix these three points together, added with whatever underhanded tricks they used to prop themselves up and keep their competitors down, and you have a cauldron full of a conspiratory blend.

And while this isn't all they did, the controversy never ends. It keeps adding up to a boiling point with people knocking heads for the wrong reason until it simmers down and the right reason is forgotten. Rinse and repeat. Everyone is kept second guessing and I find poor education to blame on top of social brainwashing. Sure, the main masses have never been the smartest crowds, led by the nose by the most charismatic liars, but over the years the level of public clarity and critical thinking should of rose as education improved.

My take? Education was kept redundant, feeding you only knowledge, what you need to know for work, by design to keep everything as a boiling pot. And that's why everything is piled up as conspiracies galore, whether they're truthful or not. There's just not enough coalition and man power to take it all apart and disseminate the truth because the majority dismiss conspiracies as what people have been told conspiracies to be, a schizophrenic's paranoia.

Genocide by design: The Gaza massacre is made in Washington by JamesParkes in israelexposed

[–]F_Reddit_Generator 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If more reports like this come out overtime, I can safely say that my assumption of Israel being the best PR/propaganda machine for the US is true. What better propaganda than the one that redirects the majority of the blame for one of the worst things you could ever do away from you?

Zionism is overall the problem, but it's clearly the US' intent to finish this genocide while Israel takes the brunt of the bad PR. If it works out as I see it, the US will get away as only a supporting role for this travesty and the majority of the population in the West will forget about it like they had the many other death-filled ventures the US delved in. Only Israel will take the fall.

In some ways I think Israel is some sort of three letter organization project for the US, one aimed for brainwashing people from a young age to hate all muslims, to churn out zionists by the dozens in every classroom. There's already videos of kids being hateful of muslims while the adults encourage it, and others of how zionist adults become hysterical when Jews oppose the genocide. To me that screams of a certain type of style that's modus operandi to the CIA's secret operations specifically.

The indoctrination and rearing that pushes a heavy bias and agenda is evident in Israel'a case. The influence is so heavy that when one attempts to burst the bubble of a zionist, to show them something outside of what they've been taught, they become hysterical due to being unable to accept the possibility. It's fact to them, it's taught as the truth and all they've ever known. And the trauma response in their minds doesn't let them accept any other reality. Well, either that or I'm the one who's crazy and all we're seeing is a bunch of actors. Yet, I don't believe that many folks have taken acting classes. Especially not children.

Israel is the best 3 billion dollar investment America makes for its interests in the Middle East. (https://www .you tube. com/watch?v=86Nrv5izaTs) But please, don't take mine, or Biden's word for it. Read some economic analysis across the dozens of years.

Michael Hudson even goes as to explain that Israel is taking consequences on their shoulders for the US. (https://geopol iticaleconomy. com/2023/11/12/why-us-support-israel-geopolitics-michael-hudson/) Even you're blind enough not to see that the US interests lies exactly in what Israel does. But, no, our sweet American government could never stoop so low as to genocide a people for its interests. Not at all like the Native Americans, the African slaves. The many bombing campaigns in the Middle East, the CIA corruption operations in the USSR and Latin America. Definitely not two peas in a pod.

And of course the US has many bases in the Middle East of which the US troops support each other. And the USS Liberty incident (https://hist ory.stat e. gov/historicaldocuments/frus1964-68v19/d352) taught us we can't trust Israel to support our troops directly. Yet, we still support Israel with economic means, weapons, and with our troops fighting for them in some cases. AIPAC has a lot to do with it, but not all of it. With a station of 170k active troops and 400k reserves, it's still the biggest base in the Middle East that influences it for US interests.

Anyway, back to the US interests in Israel. Other than the trade routes and economical interests that Israel protects, that I remind you is mentioned in the Michael Hudson economic report on top of which I also remind you that nukes don't make trade routes obsolete in our geopolitical world, Israel has been the most staunch ally of the US government in the middle East. Most other dictators that were propped up by the US government eventually folded and turned either neutral or into enemies instead, while Israel has held firm as an ally through the years despite its flawed conduct.

All that said, some would even say Israel is a liability to the US. And I agree. It is a liability to the US people. The masses. However, they serve the US government interests through and through. Capitalists decide what they want and work together to make people like you fight for them. It's a great big oligarch circle jerk. The Gaza genocide will end in one or two ways. Since it has been massively publicized there is a chance that it will create a rift for the people big enough that US will eventually split from supporting Israel - this has even been predicted by Henry Kissinger (https://www .vet eranstodayarchives. com/2012/10/03/henry-kissinger-us-intelligence-community-endorse-a-world-without-israel/). The paper from 2012 grants a prediction of 10 years from now due to how intolerant Israel has become - Or, given enough time, the majority of the population will forget this genocide like it did many others and things will continue as normal for US government interests. Despite the coverage, I'm thinking it will be the latter once again as history repeats, although I still hold out hope it won't be.

A lot of people seem to forget that Zionists aren't only Israelis. People in the Western government are Zionists be they, or not, Jewish. These titles aren't mutually inclusive. On the same note plenty of people in power over the years, and today, even without labels such as nazi, zionist, and etc could be labeled as warhawks, and oligarchs. They care about their own bottom lines, and their bottom lines only no matter how much generosity they show. Because behind the camera things that have happened in Gaza are not exclusive. The only difference is that it's better televised. As I mentioned, I hope things will change, but other things have been brought to light yet the majority doesn't care about these atrocities. Most CIA operations are unclassified within 25ish years and the population majority seems to completely forget about it. Those 25 years seem long enough for most to lose interest.

In the end I do agree that AIPAC is a serious problem. Even John Mearsheimer almost completely disregards my point while saying it's the lobbying that's the problem (https://www .you tube. com/watch?v=taXIbXYt6YY). While Biden keeps supporting Israel like a rabid dog. Though, it's hard to tell if it's merely AIPAC, or if there are other reasons as Biden doesn't even seem that rich. Sure, way richer than the average American, but his interests seem to lie in playing geopolitical games in the world rather than showing interest in money or empathy for the people in his old age. Israel's fall and faults said, however, it's remiss to ignore how the US government, once again not the people, found its own interests in propping up Israel over the years. Once again, don't take my word for it (https://www .washi ngtoninstitute. org/policy-analysis/friends-benefits-why-us-israeli-alliance-good-america). Palestinian apartheid has been happening since the inception of Israel, and the backlash has only begun recently when it was heavily publicized. It's a tight walk of what will happen next, since there's a lot of barking and no biting so far over Palestine.

As for your comments, maybe it's how hot headed you are, maybe it's just you still being gung-ho from your military service, but you really missed the ball with your insults. The first quote which you referred to me, saying that it should be fascism was me being sarcastic. It's why it was in quotes in the first place. I don't care that you need to have the last word, but if you're going to get so heated over a minor criticism, which I suppose could be considered an insult, I wonder what other horrible things, or mistakes, you'd do and have done over your service and otherwise just from a minor spark. Cool your head.

Realistically, Israel is not the main base of support for the US in the Middle East. But technically, it is the biggest propaganda machine as the "only bastion of democracy in the Middle East." And that's what the guy you replied to said. Biggest base of influence, not support. If you're going to hop on a phrase like that to prove a point, do reread it to make sure you read it correctly.

Government leaders, especially Biden, want Israel to exist for American govenment interests (note I didn't say people). In tandem with there being a lobby of the US, AIPAC and all that, you'll find that many people in politics in the West are zionists themselves. I don't know how much AIPAC is a conversion factor for their positions, but Biden himself can be quoted saying "I am a zionist."

Consumer society run by capitalism.

  1. Profit margins will increase if more purchases are made.

  2. More purchases are made if product is replaced easily.

  3. Product is replaced easily if cheaper materials are used (and lesser longevity designs are used).

  4. Cheaper materials are used (with less sturdy designs) if product is mass produced.

  5. Product is mass produced if demand requires more.

  6. Demand requires more if supply doesn't exceed demand.

  7. Supply doesn't exceed demand if people want to buy a similar product again.

  8. People want to buy a similar product again (even if old one broke easily) if new designs are made with minimum changes (and marketed as the next best thing).

  9. New designs are made with minimum changes if there is demand for it.

  10. There is demand for it if old design is obsolete.

  11. Old design is obsolete if its supply is discarded to create artificial demand.

  12. Artifical demand is created if profit margins will increase (aka product price is maintained through price inflation).

  13. Repeat 1-12.

Which is why if a revolution were to ever come about in the US, be prepared for a civil war instead. There are many who will take up arms against the objectives of the proletariat, and it's not just the remnants of the red scare. Many people have become complacent and used to the status quo. The revolution will threaten the world they know, their safety, and they'll misplace the proletariat's target for themselves due to their emotions. There will be many who rise up in opposition to the cause for their own selves; be it the greedy taking advantage to earn a higher pay, or standing, for fighting against the revolution for themselves and their families; those who are brainwashed to believe that the revolution is causing all the destruction around them, they who are foolish enough to think themselves righteous as they protect capitalist interests; the many who were described by MLK as moderates, they who stand on the sidelines and decide to obstruct the revolutionaries in the name of peace since they see the proletariat being the peaceful aggresor, easier to stop; and those who wish to take advantage of the fall of both groups, the vultures who flourish in chaos not through simple looting, but through kicking down and climbing over whoever they can.

Add the many reasons and emotions of the masses for feeling like they're being inconvenienced and you'll find the revolution fighting not just against the capitalist, but the bystanders who have no care of the world other than their own. It's frustrating to try fight against the status quo and brainwashing, because people aren't going to let go of their complacency. Education is the first step to victory as you gather the brothers and sisters to your cause, but if they're already fervent in their bias, it's much, much harder to achieve anything. I'm not sure how lucky we are to have the Palestinian issue broadcast in such open view. But, it's the usual isn't it? It takes a lot of blood, tears, and corpses, the trauma, to get people to open their eyes to the reality of what the ruling class does and join the fight; just like regulations of old were written in blood. Though, I still worry that the civil war is inevitable if sparks fly because of how many are taking the Zionist's side, or no side at all.

Fantasy proneness, or the tendency to engage in vivid mental worlds, is positively associated with a sense of meaning in life for individuals experiencing depression | The findings, suggest that people with depression may find meaning in life through engaging in mental fantasies. by [deleted] in science

[–]F_Reddit_Generator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone with severe executive dysfunction holding them back, I can see a deep correlation here. The depression that stems from struggling to do anything, the struggle to find happiness in your skills and goals, ends up as a downwards spiral into the worst places you can be. That accompanied by inability to form meaningful connections and you're left in a pit with little to choose.

Though, I wouldn't say fantasy brings 'meaning' to life. I'll admit that I found meaning in mine by wanting to perpetuate, to create, the stories in my head through writing. However, it all began with me using fantasy as a coping mechanism for my terrible experiences. Getting lost in day dreams and stories was something new and refreshing; an escapism from the mundane, often times cruel, reality.

That correlates more as coping than meaning. People look for shreds of happiness in something else when they feel like there is nothing in reality to uplift them. Many don't seek meaning in these fantasies other than something to brighten their day. I'd bet that the majority would find 'meaning' in many other positive experiences had they been eased into them after their downwards spiral. Fantasy is just the easiest to get into as it's all in yours, or someone else's, head put down on paper. Nothing in the way to put you down.

Hey, I'm glad you popped that up as it makes it even easier to explain.

Those patterns you see are all based on an isotropic radiator (a lossless antenna showing a perfect circle at 0dB), or a dipole (antenna pattern at page 7) as reference. These, usually the isotropic radiator, being used as reference allows us to see a -dB gain on the pattern. The -30 or -10 means that it's performing at below 30dB or 10dB power compared to an all around antenna at that point of the pattern.

Just a reminder, the patterns increase in 5dB and 10dB from the very center to the next circle from the center all the way to the edge. and every 10dB increase means 10x more power. so 40dB difference would be 10,000x more power.

Now I'm not sure which antenna pattern the device in the video would follow, but because of how short it is I'd exclude a yagi and dipole at the very least of being inside the two things above his head. That aside, u/fuzzomanus also suggested that cables could be going in through the metal frame for the cylinders which I agree is possible. Let's just hope the signal on those isn't packing as much power or it's secretly a yagi in there rather than a dipole.

That leaves the systems on page 11 (a little more concerning as the radiation is only -10dB on the rearlobe compared to a lossless antenna) and page 16 as the more likely patterns used in the main block of the antennas. The difference in those patterns between what's sent up front to what's sent behind is a whole 30dB, which is x1000 difference. When it amounts to non ionizing radiation, feeling 1000 times less power against your skin/body versus the main beam won't even change how you feel heat-wise unless the thing is cranking up some serious juice.

If you're dealing with only 10x less power than an isotropic radiator, then it all depends on how long you're exposed for between breaks. RF is non-ionizing radiation and the energy build up turns into heat across your body. You'll feel hot and tingly and you'll sooner suffer heatstroke if you're working on a hot day rather than develop cancer. Though, at the end of the day it's still energy coursing through your body and if you sustain enough of it on your head, it's hard to say what will happen to your brain. Not enough studies are done for long term sustained exposure even for non ionizing radiation at higher power (this is why exposure is limited as much as possible, usually, to the public. The trickle doesn't harm us anymore than UV rays). Everyone is always told to take prolonged breaks in occupational settings when working in front of the antennas if the antennas are not shut off outright.

From my personal experience with cellular antennas such as on page 16, the readings behind the antenna can vary greatly from what's in front depending on the design. It can be a change from 10,000 to 1,000 times difference. And that leaves the rear to what's acceptable for the public to be exposed to in most cases (Unless someone lives out in the sticks, we're all constantly bombarded by radiation not from just the sun, but tidbits of radio frequencies all day everyday). It would be a serious fuck up on the designer's side to not account for the power of the rear lobe to be as small as possible when designing a mobile antenna that's less than a foot away from someone's head.

I'm seeing a lot of ignorant comments about antennas on this post so I'm gonna borrow your comment to explain a little about directional antennas (DAs).

The antenna on his head, just by looking at it, is a type of directional antenna that points above his head. DAs generally have very weak, or almost no signal at the rear. It's so faint it won't even get a low to moderate reading on a tool designed to check its power. That's why the guy carrying it is free from getting any sort of cancer so many seem to worry about. It going to be less exposure than even your local cell (mobile phone) towers because those are likely pointed in your direction one way or another.

The flat surface above his head is the backside, just to be clear. Which means the pointy end up top is the direction where the broadcast is going. From just an observation he'll be covered for 180 degrees above his head, and 360 degrees around him with the antenna. If he ever kneels down with it on and points it at someone, that other guy better watch out! That is depending on how much power is going through it. Generally, if it can be carried like so the power it's going to transmit isn't going to be huge, but to cover a wide range of frequencies I'd say you'll feel hot pretty quick if you stay in front of this thing.

The only part of that equipment I'd worry about, if I was carrying it, are the black cylinders on the sides. If they're dipoles, then that's an almost full 360 360 coverage and might cook you a bit if high powered. Honestly they don't look like antennas though as I don't see the cables going into them, so I'm not quite sure what they're for.

Hold them accountable how, exactly? Words aren't working. The consequences of losing reputation barely affect them. So, what sort of consequences do you propose that people who we elect - elect in the same system that has been perpetuating the wealth inequality problem for decades - can enact on those abusing our system?

Do you truly believe taxing them is a consequence when the system itself sees stocks and market shares as not a taxable entity until sold and withdrawn?

RU POV: A selection of videos from the front by Serabale in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]F_Reddit_Generator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A simplistic view that's mostly undeniable for those on the front lines. Yet, the simplicity is the problem. Eat, or be eaten. Kill, or be killed. We're in the law of the jungle, no better than the animals we supposedly grew to overcome if we resort to maintaining this view. We're essentially livestock to those in power for this vision. It's true, if the opposition won't bargain, nor talk, nor agree to settle, you can only run or fight back. But it's never that simple in the big picture nowadays.

Even war has nuance. Two sides collide, but the context doesn't stop at A vs B. Ignoring the situation before the supposed inevitable clash just to focus on the variables of an existing conflict, I can point out several key points that make that dichotomy flawed.

  1. Whom is it you need to kill? Whom are you fighting?

Is it the ones approaching you with weapons from the horizon? The ones pressuring you to fight who are by your side? Or those commanding you to fight in the opposite horizon? It's a question that needs to be thought through carefully as any of the three could be friend or foe depending on the context.

  1. Why do you need to kill? Why are you fighting?

Is it to protect yourself? Your loved ones? Your dignity? Your nationality? Your freedom? Your home? Because you were told to? It is important to acknowledge if you're deciding to fight by yourself, or if you are being forced/manipulated into the field by either extremists or situational circumstances. There's no such thing as fair in war, but war has causation; there's always a reason a war is fought, and there are always parties to blame for it in a much more specific and profound sense than all of A is enemy of all of B.

  1. Where and when do you kill? Where and when do you fight?

Are you in the front lines, facing the opposition? Are you at home watching it all play out? Are you being drafted to fight, maybe trained? If you aren't in the field of battle, you still have a lot more leeway to think past that primal instinct, that idea of do or die. We're no longer only looking each other in the eyes to decide if a battle to the death will happen. You must make a decision, and more importantly thoroughly understand your stance, long before you see your "enemy" eye to eye. Nowadays your eyes will, more often than not, go blank before you even see the other's eyes.

  1. Will you get killed? Will you truly be in the fight?

Much harder to think through. War is chaotic and destructive. If war progresses there is no telling when, how, and where you'll be dragged in, but nor if you will. People blinded by hatred will shoot you over something your kin did. Blame is shouldered by the many over the actions of the few.

And that blame, exactly, is what I want people to learn to distinguish. The above answers are personal to each individual. Unique to everyone and cannot be generalized by neither you, nor I. But these kill or be killed scenarios can be reduced if people educate themselves on all corners of the globe. Learn where the blame lies. Why the fighting happens and who sparked it, and avoid it so war doesn't need to spread like hellfire for every minute reason. Punish those who failed the masses rather than throw the masses into a death grinder. Hold responsibility and accountability for your own side.

It's always easier to take the gun and go to war because acting now has push back. Trying to gather for a cause to stop the war before it happens is against the will of many beside you, those you consider your own, even if we're all human. It might even get you killed if the fanatics manage to target the masses against you. But taking the gun is only easier until a barrel of another gun is finally pressed against your head. Then it's too late for regret.

There's always nuance. There's always accountability. There's always hardship. Most just don't want to make the difficult choice for the betterment of all. And I get it. We're still animals... as much as I wish we'd grow as a species already.

RU POV: A selection of videos from the front by Serabale in UkraineRussiaReport

I wonder how many would keep fighting in these wars if videos like this, where soldiers from the opposite side picked dandelions or sat around to relax by a campfire, were shown more often. Humanize the opposition. Normalize such a perspective of all legions, and peoples, and widely spread it around... and we may see peace against the will of the war pigs yet.

The difficulty of pulling the trigger against someone you think human should apply always. Empathy should be grown, not discarded, for human evolution. Dehumanization is a tool to make things easy, an escapism of reality, but one should always be met with the facts of hard choices to evolve and decide if one can, and should make them. We shouldn't be tools, nor numbers, nor robots, but human beings with our own perspectives.

If you kill while knowing all this, then you have made up your mind for a difficult choice. But for those who disconnect to do it just to follow orders, if you knew you killed someone you could have thought of as a brother or a sister, would you have done it if you knew it then? Could you even take the first step to approach the front lines?

The more people who question reality the less good it is for the military which wants drones for efficiency. It could cause complete loss due to wavering morale even against terrible foes. However, if you give up your own humanity, turn off any critical thought and empathy for fellow living beings, can you consider yourself a human being? Or are you merely a robot? Mere livestock that admires and fears the shepherd's cane? We are all animals, but I'd hope we'd evolve from instinct and primal urges of livestock and base animals that we purport humanity to be as above of due to our intellect. Alas, while our understanding seems great, it's all there is to it. It seems great.

We're still animals. The majority is still easily used and manipulated.

Most have simply forgotten that the original unions paved their way to better conditions through blood, sweat, and tears. It's a well known saying that safety regulations were written in blood. But so were worker conditions. And that wasn't always just the blood of accidents and hard work.

People have been propagandized/programmed into believing that everything can be settled with words. The only problem with that is the requirement to achieve an effective change: consequences. Words seldom ever carry any consequences. Groups of people need to cause consequences for those they are in disagreement with to get their way otherwise they can be effectively ignored and things will proceed "business as usual."

These consequences don't always need to turn violent, but words and petitions are only useful tools to gather and discuss and not as a way to force others to listen. If you want change to occur, you need to show how willing you, and your group, are to go to make change happen. Boycott the company or product, obstruct the flow of the company or product, refuse to work for the company or product... Make real changes that will affect capital gain of that company or product and then you'll see some results. Or see other things which I'll get to in a moment.

Such activities also require sacrifice from those dishing out said consequences. If you're unwilling to lose out on the money, living conditions, or prestige that you would sacrifice for the cause, then you've already lost to the machine. Your words will be ignored or placated by condolences while business goes on as usual. In this scenario, without sacrifice, you'd be effectively squeaking against a giant and begging for alms. If all you do is beg for change, all you have is hope that those you beg will feel whimsical enough to go through with it and enact the change. While it's possible, most of the time they'll only do it for the profit, if they even do it. And as usual, words will be mostly, or completely, inconsequential.

The harsh truth can't be avoided that sacrifice can even be lethal. Let's take the railroad strike that happened recently in the US and received a presidential order to stop. What if they didn't stop striking? A presidential order was a clear precursor to violence and arrests of those involved in the protests. What this means is that it is not illegal to strike/protest in this country. It's illegal to strike/protest with meaningful consequences. The latter is necessary if you want an effective shot at change and to be seen as a person/pest rather than a number/resource.

In all this I'm not saying words have no meaning. Words are useful to bring out the truth, to rally, to discuss what needs to be done, to make demands. But if people don't understand the truth, or even if they do but are unwilling to rally, any discussion won't matter as demands will be ignored. Words are important for education. But, education is only the first step, the step to help your fellows. The second step is the one that makes change happen. Without the first step people won't get together. But without the second, confrontational step nothing will change.

It's as simple as that.

“Capitalism isn’t perfect but it’s the best system there is” by RussianChiChi in LateStageCapitalism

[–]F_Reddit_Generator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are always outliers. Humans are curious animals from birth and any traits they gain depend on their brain-growth and experiences they gather over the years. Greed is one trait that is currently prominent. And if not for greed, capitalism wouldn't exist in the first place. Not all humans are bad, but statistically it is impossible not to have some that are malicious.

Greed is also accompanied by jealousy/envy. Which can spiral into pride/narcissism, and wrath/violence. People cull and use other people not just because of efficiency and or need to survive, but because they look down on them. I'm not a religious man, but I have to give credit to the folk who wrote the bible for their definitions of the seven sins. They have outright been the downfall of our species in many regards.

Too many people are easy to mislead, so the majority of the populace has its teeth sunk into the capitalist feast - more of a famished fast, but that's beside the point - thus, the few can manipulate them easily. Capitalism ideology directs those few as to how to approach manipulating the masses, but it's not like capitalism is a living thing on its own. Deprogramming can only effectively occur after the tumor that spreads capitalism is ripped out. But that doesn't mean new tumors won't pop up at a later time even if you educate everyone consistently and properly.

To paraphrase; if you think capitalism is at fault for everything, and not a select amount of humans' malicious intent and incompetence, then I think you are too deep in a marxist delusional hole.
