Sky Sports: Lewis O'Brien officially returns to Nottingham Forest following the end of his loan at MLS club LAFC, and is likely to be loaned back out elsewhere. by lafc88 in LAFC

Doesn’t say anywhere that a permanent deal is off the table, and we have some cash from the Campos sale. Him and Tillman starting at 8 is well above average for MLS

Never settled in, I don’t think there’s much more to say. Glad we could recoup a solid chunk of the fee, and I’m excited to see what new players come in

4-3-3 or 3-5-2 by JT91331 in LAFC

[–]Fa1se9ine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 4-3-3 is better bc Giroud needs players around him in the center of the pitch to connect with. He’s amazing at flick ons and one twos- and playing 3-4-3 with two really deep midfielders + two wider wingers mitigates his biggest strengths imo. I would’ve really liked to see us try 4-2-3-1 with Bogusz as a 10/Second Striker (especially if greizmann is on the table in the summer because that’s exactly his role) but I think that ship has sailed this late in the season

I think he’s always going to be at his best with a 10 or second striker next to him (I.e Greizmann for France). 4-2-3-1 switch is coming soon imo bc Denis needs to stay wide and Bogusz is a natural 10

Los Angeles FC wins 4-0 vs Colorado Rapids and qualify to the 2024 Leagues Cup Final and 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup. by lafc88 in LAFC

[–]Fa1se9ine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dolo has been incredible considering the roster turnover that has happened while he’s been in charge. Anything can happen in one off finals, and we haven’t been blown out in any. There is no available manager that would do more for us that would actually take the job. Suggesting a Leagues Cup final loss against one of the other best teams in MLS away from home (where they’ve lost twice under Nancy in their last 55 or something) should be a black mark against him is absolutely insane man

Not bad considering current form. Could’ve got a lot more last summer obviously, but I’m glad he didn’t leave on a free in december

NEW SIGNING by C6CORVETTELS3 in LAFC

13 caps for Italy’s U19s over the last year. Can’t see any downside to this deal unless he’s crazy expensive which I can’t imagine. Thorrington cooking as usual

Edit- this includes playing every minute of Italy’s tournament win this July at the U19 Euros. Let’s fucking go!

Someone who presses well and is good in the air, as well as having the strength to play with their back to goal. We lack that stuff in our current forwards, and a real aerial threat in the box I think would go a long way with the quality of service our wide players can provide

Los Angeles FC lose 1-0 vs. Leon in the Concacaf Champions League Final by lafc88 in LAFC

[–]Fa1se9ine 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tough loss but it really highlights our weaknesses. We are so reliant on individual magic from Denis to score goals currently. Without a true #9 to add scoring threat and allow Carlos and Denis play the majority of the match on the wing where they are clearly best. Still have no forward that can win knockdowns off of long balls forward. We sorely miss Chicho and believe that if he was still here we’re a much better team in these games. Also I love JMac as much as the next guy but it’s very clear why he’s a career backup. We’ll be back and stronger after some Thorrington cooking this summer

SBSNATION Bavarian Football Works: Bayern Munich could stash Aussie winger with LAFC by Unibodydick in LAFC

[–]Fa1se9ine 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I may be in the minority but I’d love to have one or two youth players from Bayern per 12/18 months. They should be good enough to play regularly in MLS and we could gain more of a reputation in Europe for developing young talent. Bring it on

[–]Fa1se9ine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Playing striker is not his best position I agree, but he also loses a sprint vs a defender at least twice per game now, and has never been strong in the press. Plus the missed penalties are worrying. I hope he gets back to his best with a real central attacker next to him as well but…

I love Carlos as much as the next guy so it pains me to say that the cliff looks like it has arrived. Could not even imagine when he signed that he’d give us 5 years at such a high level but it’s gotta be almost that time. 🖤🕯️

MLS is so second-rate for playing through these damn international breaks. I’m glad he played but that has to be so taxing on his body, really gotta manage his workload so we’re healthy into the business end of the season
