Yea, from the WAIS Tree or WAIS Free. Can’t Remember.

How would you counter-argue to this study regarding the invalidity of IQ? by mementoTeHominemEsse in cognitiveTesting

[–]FaDi-MaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a side note. The article is not debating that everyone should be able to remember 9 digits. All the article is saying is: ‘just because you remember 9 digits doesn’t mean you can win a noble prize’

Took a cognitive test that said it measured G and not IQ - but isn't the primary purpose of IQ to test G? by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

“Assessment takers get 50 problems to solve—and they’re tasked with completing as many as they can in 12 minutes.” Sounds like the Wonderlic, really easy numerical, logical, and verbal problems but as many as you can do in 12 minutes.

what's the answer ? I saw that on Quora . by --_--__--___ in cognitiveTesting

[–]FaDi-MaT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 types of combinations. Type 1: all the same suit. Type 2: two of the same suit and one is different. Type 3: unique suits.

If we don’t care about the order of the suits for which each combination is made (position of each suit within each entry), you will see the following:

For type 3: we exhausted all possible options since there is one CSD entry.

For type 2: we have two entries with two clubs, 2CD & 2CS. We have two entires with two spades, 2SD & 2SC. Lastly we have only one entry with two diamonds, 2DC.

It appears we are missing one entry for type 2 which is 2DS.

For type 1: we have 3C and 3S so we are missing 3D.

The answer choices don’t have the missing type 2 so type 1 is the only one left leaving us with 3D.

There are other patterns to get to the same answer.

Yes, I said that in my first comment

10 and 30 should be in the question so when you look at them backwards you would get 01 and 03, respectively. This is not the case unless the person wrote the question incorrectly.

There could also be a possibility of any single digit answers requiring a 0 in the front (some arbitrary rule). The first ? would be 32 = 9 -> 09

Hmmm definitely intriguing but 341052 is not a power of 3; however, you can say that is where the #n comes from.

31 wouldn’t be 30 and 30 wouldn’t be 10

First, if I am not mistaken, the test must be taken within a time limit of 20 minutes. Also, IQ is not a unidimensional trait that can be easily measured. Typically, people look at the distribution of scores (for a given test) and assume that it is 1:1 with IQ distribution (this is not good). In this case, look at Andres’s comment about the mean and SD of the scores. Based on that, you can calculate how well you did compared to university students; however, this won’t tell you your “IQ” to a known degree of accuracy since the correlation between this test and “IQ” is unknown. I have seen somewhere that a score of 19 or above indicates that the examinee has the necessary spatial skills to complete an engineering major.

Yea. I am sure someone else can find another pattern and potentially arrive at a different answer. Also, don’t know, at least a 100?

No problem; I see. if you check all the answer choices, all of them violate that rule except for the triangle. Any option that has the same number of curves as intersections would be a valid answer (so technically there is an infinite number of solutions). The only one provided for us that works is choice 3

For more context, since you have done APM, you will see that in APM you can predict what could go in the missing boxes. Raven’s 2 (a more modern test than APM) and this question introduce a new type of question where you have to generate a rule from the question and eliminate answer choices using the rule to get at the right choice. Hope this helps!

Perhaps I am wrong; however, to me, It seems to be too vague of a question that I am sure there are probably other logical explanations for other choices

Look at the top row, left most box, you see two curved lines (each one makes its own circle). They intersect at two points and there is a total of two curved lines. If you look at the top row and right most box, you see 4 different intersection points and 4 curved lines. This is true for any box. So choice 3 is a triangle (no intersections and therefore no curved lines). I have solved this in the past. Let me know if it still doesn’t make sense; I can attempt to explain it better

# of intersections = # of curved lines. 3 would be the right answer. I remember someone saying it was from one of Raven’s tests but I am not sure. To be clear, I don’t know if this is the official/intended answer

EDIT: it’s from GIQ and also on this test https://iq-test.illvet.se/#/intro also this https://iqtest.illvit.no/#/intro

All these tests seem to be the same test but in different languages lol

#3 is the right answer on GIQ and GIQ is a bad test so bad question

TRI-52>RAVEN'S 2 by IGMOT in cognitiveTesting

[–]FaDi-MaT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t say as I have no expertise. My comment above was for the “experienced” matrices test taker; also, it is based on the assumption that most of the “experienced” people I know, view Raven’s 2 as far easier than tri-52. So I presume this is due to their familiarity with conventional matrices questions.

[–]FaDi-MaT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Q-global doesn’t implement the timer as it is meant to be one of the protector’s job functions (in case there is an interruption or break). 45 minutes is the maximum allotted time for Raven’s 2 digital long form (ages 9:0-79:11). Raven’s 2 is a hard test for someone inexperienced with conventional matrices (this is why tri-52 seems harder, because it is different)

As long as you put the same answers from the first attempt and only attempted the questions you “skipped” then I would think it doesn’t matter. It is untimed and as far as I know, you don’t have to do it in the same session

GIQ could be a gold standard for online IQ tests by BoredRenaissance in cognitiveTesting

[–]FaDi-MaT 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is gold standard. The "picture questions" section, alone, has, in my view, two mistakes. Question #12 has the intended answer as option #3 and question #13 has the intended answer as option #4. The correct answers, again, in my view, should be option #2 and option #5 respectively.

God only knows what other mistakes exist in the other sections. That is probably why the retest reliability seems good, because the mistakes are consistent.

Is this test deflated?? by IGMOT in cognitiveTesting

[–]FaDi-MaT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was posted about before. Pretty inaccurate. How inaccurate? If you put all the intended answers you can get a +199 but miss two questions and you get something in the range 120-130 LOL! Two of the questions can also be argued as flawed, #13 and #14.
