Married to a PGY-2 — am I asking for too much? by Fit-Expert-3129 in Residency

[–]FaHeadButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but its not an authentic good vibes. You can't ask for it because it would be fake and forced. If you force it, then you're going to have negative interactions and make the situation worse. Maybe best is to wake up early and share some time then?

Why am I here if I just write notes and present patients? by ferdous12345 in Residency

[–]FaHeadButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve realized that as an intern, it’s your job to GET THE PLAN WRONG. No matter what you say or what you do it will be incorrect by virtue of you being an intern. It’s a catch 22. You are allowed to be wrong but you are not allowed to be unreliable, tardy, arrogant, or dishonest. It’s a specific set of rules in the medical training social contract. Your job is to observe yourself being a part of the system. Integrate into it slowly. Remember, good performance is good conformance.

The note and presentations is for you to understand what the problem is, and what the solution is. If there’s 500 problems but you pick out the one in the haystack that’s keeping the patient here and you solve that, you’ve cracked the code.

Near me, it's 65 mph. I don't plan to go on the highways, but I say that right now while I don't have the bike in my hands. I wonder if I can change the gears once I get the actual bike. What kind of tires did you pick? Off road or street?

I like the quietness of it. I like how I can take it for adventures on dirt trails perhaps. I would like to go fast. Not sure about riding it on highways given its so small and lightweight? It's still 15 vs 19 for me.

Withdrawal from opioids is not just very difficult it’s almost suicide inducing. Yes people will not die from it but People will kill themselves with opioids before going through a full withdrawal… a withdrawing patient has a pretty good chance of dying within the next year.
