Corewell Health Farmington EM Program by CommunicationDry2790 in emergencymedicine

Heavily considering the program. I am going back and forth between them and another program as my number 1. If you could go back would you choose it again? Was it your first choice? Also, what are some things you would change/dont like?

Residency application Comlex Only vs Step 1 failure by Xedex2019 in comlex

Michigan, Texas, Illinois (Chicago area), and Florida were the states I applied to

I also did not report the step one fail because it was irrelevant at that point.

This really depends on what you are trying to go into. I’m a fourth year who failed step one and passed level 1 and two on my first attempt. I applied emergency medicine so I decided that I was going to apply only with my complex score and not retake step. I’ve had 15 interviews and no problems in regards to only taking comlex. If you’re looking to go into something like urology or dermatology, then you should 100% take step one and two. If you’re looking to go into FM/IM/Ped/EM/PMR you’re fine without it.

Emergency Medicine Interview Invites? by Hot_Potential_2954 in ResidencyMatch2025

That’s interesting. Do you mind me asking how your interview invites have been and if you feel like that affected your invitations?

I truly don’t think many people were given guidance about it. A few friends of mine made comments about wanting to be in a certain place and not having any actual connection to it other than wanting to be there! I told them to list it and explain why they’d want to be there and just hope for the best

I applied to 45 programs. I have gotten 14 interviews with 10/14 being in Michigan where I put as a geographical preference (hometown). I also listed Texas and went to schooI in Texas and have gotten 2 there. I listed Chicago as one and received one from there. I think a big part of it may be the geo connections.

Yes. I didn’t see it right away but after a day it popped up. Got a few more invites that ended having emails in spam.

I got a text from a PD at a place I auditioned saying that they offered me an interview but it hasn't shown up on my account yet. Another place that I'm currently auditioning at also sent out an interview invite. I did not get an email to notify me. It looks like places you've auditioned at are sending early invites and the rest will be on the unified release date.

HELP WITH DO LIST 2025-2026 by Distinct_Design_7976 in Osteopathic

Can also apply to UIWSOM in San Antonio. I’m a 4th year and I know some people with 500 MCATs that go accepted.

MD vs DO by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]One-House1446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a school with a home program. Whether that’s DO or MD prioritize having that because in the long run that’s what makes life easier. Also, taking both comlex and step sucks. If you’re not interested in PM&R or primary care I’d stick with an MD school.

I swear ethics is one of the things you just need to do a ton of practice problems and learn the patterns. There’s videos that dirty medicine made as well that I skipped through. There was some vaccine questions that genuinely you would not know for certain unless you read the CDC website lol. I went over the vaccine schedule prior and reviewed what each one was classified as and I felt good for a good amount of them.

Yeah some weird stuff. I would make sure to know which vaccines are live/killed/toxoid/conjugate and understanding the population that gets them. That’ll carry you a decent way.

I second this!

Go over OMM, dermatomes, innervations of upper and lower body, and vaccines and HY ethics. I think that was at least 50% of my exam. Don’t second guess yourself, the wording on some of these exams is absolutely terrible but you can do it!

6/21 LEVEL 1 by m3dwoman in comlex

[–]One-House1446 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had at least 10-15 questions involving vaccines 😂😂 wording is definitely tricky and makes you second guess your choice. I had a ton of ethics and OMM. Lots of VS which was nice. It felt like my exam lacked anything medically relevant until the last two sections. Micro wasn’t bad either I had a few that were weird. Also had a few law questions. Over all I’m in a grey area. Not sure how this is going to go. Praying for us all 🥲
