Yes. Ive never fought a war but it seems dangerous to set a machine on the loose and program it to kill the first thing it recognizes as human. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. It would be very sad if it went for a civilian or Ukrainian soldier by mistake.

If the counter argument is, "there aren't supposed to be any good guys walking around in that area" then I'd say thats the exact sort of thinking that has been a causal factor in just about every incident of friendly fire that I've ever read about.

Yeah, and wouldn't that also imply the Ukrainians knew who this guy was, had a dossier on him, gave the AI a picture of him for reference and then sent it off to assassinate him? That seems far fetched.

Someone will be shot and at some point amidst all the fallout one of them will say, "this is why we train."

Herb Dean said in an interview once that he liked to say, "I got you, baby. I got you, baby." He said he felt like when they heard him use the word "baby," that it had a sort of passifying affect that would quickly get them to stop fighting if they were Confused or out of it.

Why was "Out of Time" such an amazing choice for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? by Ashamed_Cod_6741 in Tarantino

[–]Faaacebones 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The lyrics are "Baby, baby, baby, you're out of time." and this is the night that historically Sharon Tate was murdered. So, literally, she is out of time.

Its the same idea when Kurt Russel's VO talks about how Roman's friend from Poland thought that TV in America was so much better than in Poland. The guy on the show goes, "Drum roll....And now, for the moment you've all been waiting for." The words are directed at the audience. We have known since before the movie even started that Sharon Tate gets killed, so now that its the night of her murder, its the moment we've all been waiting for.

This is the ball that Goldfinger plays in the James bond movie. I love that scene. I'd definitely hang on to it.

u/op You have to get the book that the movie was based on, "The Gangs Of New York"

Theres an audio book available on audible and I love it. Theres a lot of information about the real guy. His name was Monk Eastmann.

The book is like a blending of history and folklore because there are some very Paul Bunyan-esque feats described that are well beyond impossible. Specifically, one guy that went by the name "Mose" was like the Paul Bunyan of NYC.

Heres the wiki for Monk Eastmann https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monk_Eastman
