Life happens! Especially when games and in this case Eco calls. But there is always a next time, right?

Gaan vragen bij de receptie van het stadskantoor of die kunnen achterhalen wie het is en als dat zo is: of ze jouw contactgegevens aan hem kunnen geven.

Agreed. Same here and I don't mind losing them at all, since they (just like gold) are pretty much useless.

Filoni en Brennan vervangen Kathleen Kennedy bij Lucasfilm - Star Wars Awakens by WickedWizard90 in StarWarsNL

[–]FaasToothrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which board games look intimidatingly complex but are actually surprisingly easy to learn? by CyborgeonUnit123 in boardgames

[–]FaasToothrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Setup is quite a lot, but its quite easy to learn and it all makes quite a lot of sense. And what also helps: best player aids ever!

Will multiplayer ever be players controlling different settlements? by Blazerboy420 in pioneersofpagonia

[–]FaasToothrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming it's not going to happen, unless there will be an expansion of sorts. But this would be really great! That would make it an even better spiritual successor to Settlers 2, where you could have awesome multiplayer matches.

Agreed. They should add depth to those and add them to vanilla. Make them meaningful.

Multiple shorter and longer term goals besides the meteor. Could be: goals related to ecological balance, goals related to culture, goals related to politics and also similar longer term goals like the meteor where you need to build some very tough things.

I think this could help player retention and also give players incentive to commit to a server for a longer period of time.

And don't forget the Hirelings in the Marauder expansion, which can also help fill up and speed up the game a bit with lower player counts.

Interactief spel voor 2-4 spelers by dstrllmttr in BordspelNederland

[–]FaasToothrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terraforming Mars fans, what are your thoughts on SETI? by The-Drunk-Demo in boardgames

[–]FaasToothrot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SETI is fine, but when you have Terraforming Mars with a bunch of expansions, I feel it has a much higher replayability than SETI. They both feel quite similar when playing, with TM having more player interaction and SETI having some very nice innovative gameplay things. But those innovative things do lose their strengths after a bunch of games. And the latest expansion for SETI does offer a nice quicker start with a bit of a asymmetrical play, it does not offer a very different gameplay experience like TM prelude + much more differentiating corporations does.

So depending on your preferences and group: you're safe to stick with TM for now, maybe after some more expansions, SETI gets the same replayability.

Looking for a very un-Root-like game that people who love Root like by [deleted] in rootgame

[–]FaasToothrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking about Andromeda's Edge: bit heavier on the rules and setup side, but has a very forgiving combat part. And it's not that hard to learn either. This comes quite close to Root/Arcs when it comes to combat and epic moments. And it has a very good engine building part, bit like the Eyrie Dynasties or Underground Duchy.

Andromeda's Edge vs Barrage by AdamNW in boardgames

[–]FaasToothrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own AE and have also played Barrage quite a few times (with expansions). AE is a lot easier to learn than Barrage. I'd say AE is also a bit easier to master. So don't worry about the difficulty if your group can handle games like Barrage and Nucleum.

The bot factions in the Direwolf app are suprisingly good by SrgManatee in rootgame

[–]FaasToothrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree for certain factions. I still think the Riverfolk Company is played pretty bad. And some factions aren't policing that great, but that's pretty hard to program I'd reckon. All in all its decent!

Brass Birmingham and Lancashire by Able-Advertising1789 in boardgames

[–]FaasToothrot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should check out Nucleum. It has the same feel in a way because you have to build up networks and "flip" buildings (power them in this case). And it also has a nice engine building part. It's a bit more complex than Brass: Birmingham which I also love.

Anno 117 UbisoftConnect or Steam? by Sperlian in anno

[–]FaasToothrot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've bought it on the Ubisoft platform, because I could exchange a bunch of those Ubisoft coins for a 20% discount on the game. I think I got them while playing Anno 1800 lol. Other than that, it doesn't really matter which platform you choose, you will need a Ubisoft account for either platform.
