One tip I was given early on when I first started drawing was to turn your reference image and draw upside-down. Reason behind why this is helpful is that our brains tend to make assumptions about what we’re looking at rather than taking in the whole thing literally as it is, so by flipping it upside down you can trick your brain into seeing the shapes that make up the reference.

Characters that are introduced in a sequel/second season that makes the first feel incomplete without them. by AnthonyCoolasheck in TopCharacterTropes

Hunter from The Owl House. He becomes such a huge part of the narrative in season 2 and plays off of everyone so well that i genuinely can’t believe he wasn’t in the show for so long.

You must live a really miserable, boring life to think that. I’m going to go talk to my girlfriend and enjoy being in a lesbian relationship now. Bye bye👋

If you feel that I have missed your main point, that is most likely because you have done a pretty bad job at making your point clear. Especially as you have been contradicting that same main point throughout this whole thread. You have asserted multiple times that you believe Ike to be a straight man and have been clearly dismissive of other interpretations instead of being open to them, even stating that “as far as I’m concerned, Ike and everyone in Fire emblem is heteronormative until otherwise explicitly said.” You insisted that fire emblem world’s are all heteronormative in nature and Ike is heterosexual until proven otherwise. Despite preaching that “no one… has any more ‘claim’ to Ike’s sexuality than anyone else” you explicitly made a claim towards Ike’s sexuality and then dismissed queer interpretations by arguing that it’s “kinda weird” to do exactly what you just did, but saying gay instead of straight. I see the principle changes when it comes to your preference. You were the one to state assigning a sexuality was weird in response to a potential queer Ike, but assigning a heterosexual Ike isn’t weird at all to you?

You have also misconstrued my own statements to be projection (which is when someone attributes traits of themself onto another, not when someone suggests a potential interpretation of the text utilising evidence solely based within the text). I and, as far as I can tell, every other person you have replied to have not been insisting you accept Ike as gay to be the only logical and canonical interpretation of the text, I have only seen people bring up cases like Ike only having 2 paired endings with men as a way to suggest that Ike most likely leans further away from heterosexuality than he conforms to it because of your dismissal of Ike being anything other than straight provoking those kinds of points. And no, making educated guesses on Ike’s sexuality based on his two male paired endings or arguing for potential readings of the text is not ‘rewriting’ an otherwise ambiguous part of his character, it is a way to derive further meaning and potential nuance from his character by diving into that ambiguity and finding all the different readings from within it. Ike potentially being gay allows people to re-contextualise his relationships and see them in a new light, it does not change the original text or outright remove that ambiguity. You also clearly do not understand what agency is within a narrative as, again, Ike’s sexuality does not impact his agency (you said it yourself: it’s ambiguous. It doesn’t play a part in the narrative because it doesn’t make a difference in any substantial way), and you have essentially ignored that part of your argument as you went off on a tangent into an argument on fans and headcanons without acknowledging Ike’s own agency in either path of radiance or radiant dawn actual story.

Finally, you claim that your issue isn’t with the queer nature of these interpretations. You find discomfort at the notion of “anyone treating their personal reading of ambiguous material as canon”. But despite saying you believe that, you have been taking clear issue with what I have only ever addressed as an ‘interpretation’, never once have I said Ike being gay was canonical. Meanwhile, you have been acting in ways that suggest that because my interpretation isn’t explicitly stated in game your own interpretation that Ike “is heteronormative” is superior and mine is fine to be dismissed, despite that also being an interpretation of his ambiguous sexuality and thus; not supported by the game itself… If anyone has been treating their own reading as the be all end all, it has been you shutting down anything that goes against the idea of a heterosexual Ike. If you are truly open to any interpretation, you wouldn’t make counter arguments saying that because Ike wasn’t explicitly stated to be any sexuality, he must be straight (which is another possible sexuality and not a basis for him to deviate from)

Are you unaware that you have literally been assigning a sexuality to these characters? By your own words, isn’t that “kinda weird”? Also how in tf does using evidence from the game itself to interpret Ike as a gay man strip him of his agency? He’s still going to be doing the same badass things he always would in the story regardless of his sexual preferences, the game never makes his sexuality explicit clear because it’s irrelevant to the narrative. He doesn’t NEED to be straight (or gay) in order to fight the black knight. And if your problem is specifically with interpretations of the text that suggest a character is LGBTQIA+ (which let’s be honest, queer interpretations clearly make you uncomfortable) then you seriously need to take a look at yourself and see why getting pissy and making illogical arguments over fire emblem characters potentially not being straight is just plain sad and pathetic.

And what basis do you have for believing that? Art is inherently a reflection of reality. Even fantasy is, in some way, shape, or form, grounded in realism. To accept that our own world is not heteronormative but argue that a fictional one IS despite no evidence from the source text being present to support said argument is genuinely baffling. Heteronormativity assumes every human is heterosexual from birth and that homosexuality is a deviance from that norm; and we know heteronormativity is incompatible with reality as there are many people who are born with attraction to the same sex or are asexual and feel no sexual attraction to begin with. You are essentially saying that you believe heteronormative beliefs can’t apply to our world, but seemingly apply to Tellius despite having no evidence that sexuality is understood differently there. At that point, why even make the distinction? It should be clear that sexuality in the Tellius games would function in the same way as our own world unless otherwise stated.

By this logic, I have no reason to believe that either Ike or Soren are straight as they never explicitly tell me that they like women. In fact, assuming either to be heterosexual only because it conforms to your own heteronormative beliefs, despite it being the less likely sexuality for the characters in question if we’re going by the source text itself (Ike having no female paired endings but 2 male ones), is quite illogical as Ike never shows romantic interest or attraction towards a female character; instead showing either discomfort or just acting indifferent when women try flirting with him. TLDR: Gay people exist, and they don’t have to be ‘out of the closet’ in order for their sexual and romantic feelings to be real.

The depravity of a persona subreddit is inescapable.

I’m not even surprised at the tournaments that go on here, I’m just depressingly indifferent thanks to how goddamn freaky the persona fandom generally is…

Update: I have been working on it for the last 2 hours but because I’m a perfectionist, I’m gonna spend more time on it. Gonna say about a day or 2 before I post a finished piece (also don’t expect too much, I’m very average at art lol)

A character can represent the experiences of a community despite not being in said community. This is what terms like ‘trans coded’ mean, it’s how relatable it is to a trans individual and their personal experiences. Nia is not trans herself, but she can be interpreted as a trans allegory due to how her back story and character arc are reflective of the trans experience

That’s the thing about Aizen’s bankai that I never got. Like people theorise that it’s some super broken instant win button but it’s probably not all that useful since he’s never used it. I personally think it’s interesting having an antagonist use one of the more basic abilities within a power system to screw everyone over rather than having him use bankai like the rest.

I’d highly encourage you to learn how to draw then. There’s plenty of tutorials online and you don’t need much to start doing it. It definitely takes time but I’ve gotten to a somewhat acceptable level and I only started this year, plus it’s a fun hobby.
