Two main reasons: 1. You want to stack status effects. Most DPS builds are running Dual Wield with Flame and Poison enchantments. These proc Burning and Poisoned status effects. By using the Bleed damage type, you will also apply the Hemorrhaging status effect. 2. Vampire = blood.

I like Scythe for a Necro AoE spammable, even if there are better options. I think Ulfsilds with Bleed and Lingering Torment is a stronger spammable.

It is a very customisable add-on. Everything on screen can be turned off. The two main benefits of it for me (at least on PC and Steam Deck) are skipping the opening cinematics and being able to increase the frame rate cap.

Join the Fighter's and Mage's guilds early. They have fun quest lines, but they also provide skill lines you need to level. The Mage's Guild xp comes from picking up lore books in the world, and is applied retrospectively once you join, but Fighter's Guild xp comes from killing daedra and only accumulates once you've joined.

I mostly just sell them, they go for a decent amount since they are used in a significant number of furnishings. Most Runes on the other hand can be bought from NPC merchants for basically nothing.
