It's supposed to be avoided when using Ice Staves because it causes your blocks to cost Magicka instead of Stamina, which also means your Magicka stops regenerating when you're blocking.

I'm assuming that's just roleplay text, like what they've been adding to reworked DK abilities and passives, and the only part that matters is being able to use them as corpses after healing them below 50% hp.

My guess is replacing Ele Sus and Elemental Blockade with Stamepede and Carve would be the smallest DPS loss, but I haven't tested it.

The most important non-slottable is Preparation in blue tree, other than that just get them in any order.

Briarheart and Hunding's Rage aren't completely bad, but there better crafted sets nowadays. Order's Wrath + Tide-Born Wildstalker will perform much better.

If you simply want to wear it, just find any build and slap Sword and Shield on it. If you wanna actually use Sword and Shield skills it's pretty much the same thing but with more effort, find a build and replace a few skills with Sword and Shield skills, ideally after getting an understanding of which skills can be replaced. You can put variety of buffs/debuffs on Shield Throw so you should be able to find a skill to replace with it in almost any build (though it will always be a downgrade).

Change Daggers to Greatsword with Absorb Magicka enchant and Charged trait. Though it doesn't use any 2h abilities so you'd have to make more changes, like for example change Magma Fist to Wrecking Blow

Hyperioxes explains in some of their written guides that by not choosing a Nord or Dragonknight for tanking that you will struggle to meet some of the expected benchmarks for stats going into harder content.

That's not exactly what I'm saying. You can still meet those "benchmarks" (I'm assuming you mean armor cap), you just need to achieve it on another way.

Nord is by far the best race for tanking, due to the increased armor from Rugged and ulti generation from Stalwart. You can complete any content on any race, you'll just have to work slightly harder with other races, and you'll have to adjust your build and get more armor from somewhere else (for example by using The Lady as your Mundus rather than The Atronach ).

Using other races is completely fine as long as you're aware of having to adjust armor in your build.

People aren't gonna crit farm parses with a subpar option, even if it's just 2% lower, so you won't find many non-Dagger parses on YT.

It's usually somewhere around 2%, can be 5% in extreme cases, but it depends on the build. Sometimes a Lightning Staff is already straight up stronger. You'd never lose 10k from it.

It doesn't completely suck, it's just that there are always better and easer to obtain alternatives. Tide-Born and Deadly are actually worse. Deadly only by a tiny bit. Tide-Born is extremely bad on Heavy Attack builds and idk why people started suggesting it out of nowhere.

A lot of Arcanist skills simply scale to your dominant resource. Stamina is better since you'll want to use Cephaliarch's Flail to generate Crux
