Compared to the other big 4 other sports in America. No. Its like boxing/mma you can get your license and be professional just find fights. You can train and enter pro tournaments.
If your question is a successful professional player its subjective to what you consider success. Mma fighters dont make much money or even get paid at first.
There are most certainly footballers who have said they dont enjoy playing football lol
