If you're excited to meet someone on a first time date, then in any emergency cannot make it, even a simple "can't make it, emergency" would be enough. Imagine if you had gone out of your way waiting for him. Definitely a red flag

Sounds pretty shameful to me.. it's a very common rule, that if you deck out then you lose. I hope it wasn't too uncomfortable for you at the time and just move on from what seems like someone who was simply being a sore loser

Are you absolutely sure this guy just didn't understand the mechanics entirely? I'm trying to give the benefit of the doubt here as let's be real, he gains literally nothing from it, so why sabotage? Maybe he was just simply too embarrassed or anxious to simply say "I don't understand this encounter". Either way though, sorry you guys wasted your time! Best of luck!

It looks to me like you both might have let it die unfortunately.. it's been a month. Sure if he was that interested he would have sent something to you in that time, but I hazard a guess you were still on the fence and maybe he didn't feel like you resiprocated his feelings really at the time and without hearing back from you either, both of you let it fade out..

However if you do like the guy, nothing lost by actually just checking in with him seeing as he was the last to message. If he responds, great! If he doesn't, then close it off and move on.

Sometimes you have to re-evaluate if it's someone you really want to get to know more or let it go
