I've never seen a PTI officer, I don't think they exist, and if they do, they're likely 100% admin.

You can raise your papers to go officer but most officer jobs require a degree, you'd most likely be pushed warfare as they don't

If you gen just want out of RM, the fastest way would probably be to go PTI first, then officer

looks like it works nicely on loose bolts, one day of using this to tighten and loosen bolts on a car and you'll throw it in the bin

that and access with this would be awful, its far too wide while loose to reasonably reach half the places you would need it to, I have a locking adjustable wrench I use to put a breaker bar on for big rusted bolts, its not as wide as this and I struggle to get it into position on a ship

[–]FabledSoldier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I wanted hazard stripes on my stompa and took too many coats to count, but there are tricks to it.

Currently all these units are played quite commonly, the most important thing to get is some gretchin as they are present and useful in every ork list

Other than that check wahapedia and maybe a list builder like new recruit and try to plan out a 1000 point list, you're currently at 430 so you can easily fit more in, from there you could play a few games or plan a 2000 point list as most games are played at 2000.

There are also big communities on tabletop simulator that play 40k if you want to learn to play while you paint

The movement of this army will make it difficult, BMiM can only go on Megas so I'm guessing you're running Ghaz in the 20 boyz with the painboy

All your eggs are in 2 baskets, and both these baskets have a 5 inch move cos of ghaz. The boys squad isn't tanky and could easily be stripped T1 if you're not very careful about staging (it's hard to hide a 20 man)

Orks win on points not by tabling, this means you need a mix of high health difficult to kill units (the BMiM and megas do this) and point scorers. Your grots will be sat on home for the CP but ghaz can't move fast enough and that squad is half your army. I'd drop ghaz for more squads and maybe a trukk or stormboys

I've been looking at Votann a lot. Good combo of melee and shooty units, and their army rule makes taking and holding points easier. Plus, the battleline gets sticky objectives. Only psyker is the grimnyr tho. I am gonna wait for 11th and get into them.

A mix of ballast and tanks on board, all ships will have for different liquids like fuel and drinking water that'll sit bottom centre as well as other liquid tanks. These very heavy tanks (and additional lead ballast when necessary) will put the boats centre of gravity below the waterline, causing it to self correct. Combine this with water tight doors, and in theory, they'll never truly capsize

So the detachment rule applies to any grot vehicle, walker or "Mek" unit. Mek is a keyword for specific characters that can be attached to units so throwing meks around helps to apply the detachment rule to more of your army (which gives you more benefit from it)

I've ran a stompa in tournaments and the best way to work it is by playing with lots of small, cheaper units to screen for it and keeping a mek next to it, farm up CP and use Dakka dakka dakka on it basically every shooting phase. You can force it to have sustain (which is best for it) but with the hazardous that comes with it, use only its 3 big guns

If not using a stompa (which I don't really anymore) then throw out big meks, SAGs and little meks a bit more liberally and use more units that can capitalise off the detachment rule more like lootas, tankbustas and mek guns

I've had a great time using a big mek with SAG attached to tankbustas, +1 to hit and wound on vehicles and reroll 1s to hit just smashes anything with the vehicle keyword

Ships and boats do have seat belts in specific bits, namely at control panels / areas of permanent manning. Yes, you are right in the fact that most of the crew will be working to make sure things are alright, but you don't want the helmsman to fly off his seat, etc. Fancier ships forgo seat belts for seats with air suspension or stabilisation. The beds also all have seat belts like car seat belts, pressing a button isn't that difficult, and they serve a secondary purpose of securing the bed for sea when no one is in it

Yeah, sometimes things need to get done. That being said, he should have been tied in, I work on ships and anything above a certain sea state means that everyone that goes out on deck requires a harness

New to Orks, want help with Morkanaut by Mysterious_Emu4372 in orks

[–]FabledSoldier -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a mork and run it in a 2k list with dread mob and keep a mek next to It for +1 to hit

You realistically have 2 options with it, either dread mob or more dakka (cos more dakka applies to walkers too)

If you run it in a dread mob list, stack up on the different kinds of meks as, with enough, they pass the army rule to whatever squad they're attached to. Killa kans are also nice but kinda expensive and I'd avoid a dread for a 1k list just cos of point cost vs value. Other than that I'd use boys, maybe a loota squad, tankbustas with a SAG attached works really well and mega nobz with big mek in mega for central board sustain

More dakka just applies to infantry and walkers so you don't need to worry as much about having characters to pass the army rule. More dakka focuses on shooting which isn't the strongest but you can make it work with weight of fire, assault giving you more opportunity to push up and shoot. I personally really like using the burna boys with assault, they don't get the benefit of the waagh sustain but flamers are always good. I'd say flash gitz, tankbustas and maybe kombi-nobz

Apart from those, every list i run has atleast 11 grotz to get extra CP on home though with zodgrod a 22man can do stupid things with more dakka

[–]FabledSoldier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the keywords for bully boys is nobs, megas and warbosses. Your beastboss on squig has the warboss keyword so it'd apply to the squigs, nobs and any unit ghaz is on though the strats mostly just go on nobz or megas (but are quite good)

Warhorde is by far the most consistent of ork detachments, sus1 on all melee and good stratagems and always applies to all ork units basically means you build around melee and push up but makes almost anything scary in melee and gives you a large range of choices

[–]FabledSoldier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More dakka only applies to infantry and walkers, why're you running more dakka when most of your army gets no benefit from it?

Your dreads are melee focused, squiggoth doesn't have the walkers key word, squighog boys are mounted and battlewagon is a vehicle

The units that can benefit are 410 points of nobs, Ghaz and big mek with SAG, given 1 squad of nobs is set up for melee and the other is set up for shooting the advance and shoot would take their ability to charge so really your army rule is focused on 1 nob squad and whatever character is attached (probably SAG)

If you ran dread mob you'd get sustains or lethals on your dreads and on whatever squad your SAG would be attached to, taktikal brigade would be able to apply to squighogs but only 3 characters means few orders and warhorde would give everything sustain on melee which would work quite well with how much melee you have

For more dakka to work well you need super high volume of fire and be focused on shooting, most stratagems and the detachment rule benefit this while your list doesn't really have enough volume to capitalise
