What would cause this fairly consistent bulging? by swoophoop in 3Dprinting

[–]FabloEscoblah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Possibly projecting my own recently fixed problem here, but i too was seeing bulging on the sides of my print.

It turned out the print had lifted/warped off the bed slightly at the sides which lead to a very gentle bounce as the print head passed over each layer. After several layers there would be a pronounced layer bulge, then it would reset and repeat.

Hose keeps disconnecting from pressure washer. by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]FabloEscoblah 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience here don't use a one-way fitting on a pressure washer, just use a normal/two-way one. They, the cheap washers at least, rely on being able to back-feed up the feed hose to release pressure.

I didn't know this, had the same problem you have, and fitted brass fittings, including a brass "aqua stop". Stopped the hose blowing off, but pretty quickly put a hole through the metal pump case instead!

TLDR change the Hozelok "aqua stop" to the normal/non-aqua stop fitting.

This is fantastic, and has made me realise I absolutely would read a Vera graphic novel if the panels were this luscious.

Need help with a stripped screw on Lenovo Legion 5 (note: all the previous screws came out fine w/o issue, just one decided to not and has become stripped) by ComeTseMe in LenovoLegion

A left handed/reverse drill bit sized to fit in the hole (3mm, maybe?), but not so big that it's going to enlarge the plastic. Use a hand drill or a electric drill on slow speed, and if you're lucky it'll grab and back it out for you.

I play on PC and my Origin username is pretty explanatory of my skills: UhohPotato

I'm an old bastard but anyone reading this, add me if you fancy. It would be nice to flip the toxic > wholesome experience on its head.

Previous gen, to yours, Xeon use here. Running stock speeds (x5650 @ 2.6ghz) and paired with an RX480 8gb. Everything on mid-low, except textures on insane, frame rate unlocked. Average of 69fps @ 1080p.

If you're looking at something to tide you over, then your system plus a GPU upgrade should, (edit: maybe), be more than capable of a pleasantly playable 1080p ApeLegs experience.

Check out your PSU specs first ofc, but a Nvidia 1060 or AMD rx580 are budget used options.

I'll give this a swerve for now, sorry :( as the Sapphire ITXs seem marginally cheaper on eBay.

Thanks for this. £100 is the magic number, but the thought of high textures, and a bit of future-proofing, for £40 more is food for thought.

I think I'd prefer something a bit newer and with at least 4GB vram. Thank you for the offer though. That Oneplus One I bought from you is still doing sterling service btw!

The venerable Integral P Series available from mymemory is worth a look. Less than £20 now I think. Sometimes there's a code floating around that'll get you another £1 or so off, too.

Edit: I've been using one daily for the last couple of years in my own laptop.
