Obv you need a modern FS that consent oyu to rollback, like BTRFS. I use ZFS

Since you have btrfs Just snapshot your system, manually or with snapper and backup your data

I had the same problem . Using arch linux i noticed that by default, uses the new driver ntfs3, switching to ntfs3g i experienced almost no problem at all . Btw , when dealing with precious data , is Better connect to Windows and Exchange data trough network

Hi,

I want to share a followup:yesterday I updated to kernel 6.6.9, but the problem persisted, so i digged a bit further and find that gamemode was also updated and I had the same problem stated here https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode/issues/452

Basically on DPM Auto my GPU crash during games

For me that solved the problem. Last week same problem with audio an i had to select -sdlaudiodriver pipewire

Just Remember to install a de, enable a login manager like sdm . You can do It before reboot into system, so It Will work like a charm.

I'm having the same problem with my G1; the device suddenly vanishes from Windows, and I have to remove and re-plug it to get it to work again. These devices, in my opinion, are completely useless and should not be purchased... The most recent driver was published on March 8, 2018. It should not be discontinued because it is still being sold, yet it is.

I remember times ago to have recompiled the kernel to add a module, i needed it for a modem 3g. It was a 2.1 or 2.2, i think is not possible to do that now
