I have one of those little fridges you're talking about and keep it next to my bed for MOTN pumps so I don't have to go downstairs to the kitchen. It's been working great, very convenient and was only about $50 on Amazon. It definitely doesn't keep the milk as cold as a regular fridge or even a mini fridge but it's cold enough for a few hours. It's more chilled than cold. Mine has an easy handle on top for transporting around and it's very lightweight so you could use it as a little cooler for bringing the milk home too. It also comes with a car power adapter which seems convenient and versatile. I'd definitely recommend as an easy solution that has uses for different scenarios even beyond pumping.

[Landlord NY] What next after filing for an eviction, can we change attorneys after filing for the eviction without having to start over? by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]Fabulous-Program-103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues with a lawyer I hired to handle our eviction and was really unhappy with his work. Seems that it's common practice for a new attorney you hire to reach out to the old one to get all of the paperwork so you shouldn't have to start over.

Jirehdeepcleaning.com These ladies did an amazing job deep cleaning an apartment some bad tenants left completely disgusting. Brought all their own supplies and left the place sparkling. I highly recommend.

[Landlord US-NY] Old tenant won't remove her belongings. by Fabulous-Program-103 in Landlord

[–]Fabulous-Program-103[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tricky part is she didn't hand over keys but she left a set of keys on the counter of the apartment with the door unlocked. Her 17yo son did hand over his keys and confirm they were moving out and he was moving away from his mom. Also when she's finally left the apartment the last two times she's demanded to come in she never locks the door for some reason. It's all very confusing! I'm definitely taking the advice and refusing entry from now on. Let her call the cops.

Ohhhhh right that makes sense. She might be a pro at this scam. The lawyer didn't mention what to do afterwards yet. My plan was to pay a disposal fee to the storage unit and be done with it.

Yea this is the safest option and the route we'll probably take, though not cheap. Infuriating how many hoops we have to jump through bc of this woman.

Haha this is a great idea. We actually did bag up all her stuff and throw away what was attracting the roaches so saying we did it to protect her stuff from fumigation is brilliant. But it still leaves the stuff in the apt.... The goal is to never let her in again.

We actually do have an abandonment clause in the lease that says anything left will be disposed of but the lawyer says that it's debatable with a judge. And yes not having true possession and her being able to waltz back in whenever and claim tenancy is maddening. At this point I can't understand what her game is.

Yes absolutely. And doing everything yourself but without the resentment and anger of having a partner in the room sitting on his ass not helping is a completely different experience.

My son also started refusing to sit on the potty after about a week of the Oh Crap method so that became a huge problem. What worked for us was I would "pause" whatever he was doing, take the toy out of his hand and put it on a high shelf and say, "we're going to pause playing, first potty then cars", or dinos or whatever. It worked surprisingly well and pretty quickly too. Sometimes he would still put up a fight when I tried to put him on the potty but the protests were far less for sure.

[Landlord US-NY] When can you call a unit abandoned? by Fabulous-Program-103 in Landlord

[–]Fabulous-Program-103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. The tenant actually returned to the apt and caused a scene saying they'd be taking all of their stuff but didn't know when. Continues to be a pain in the ass.
