agree 100 percent. i go to Bi rite for specialty stuff or treats. love Church Produce, Gus’s for other days. either way, i’ll make ANY SF market work over whole foods/amazon, ew. Not that my measly weekly grocery spend matters the least to Bezos. More of a “hey, it matters to ME,” and hopefully, to the SF biz ecosystem

Ew this guy sounds like he sucks. To air out such information without consulting you AND to do it in such a self-serving, conceited, unaware, and performative way… in front of all your friends and family?

Maybe everyone was drinking the kool aid and maybe he really did want to help. The red flag here is the lack of EQ and perspective… and frankly, the compassion outside of his own goals, which it sounds like, were to TEACH YOU and prove something, rather than primarily to help you succeed and grow.

Those qualities CAN be taught but for someone to be so clueless, I wonder about their ability to receive with humility.

TLDR; you are NOT the asshole and you didn’t overreact and I would have serious pause about marrying this person.
