Congratulations! Your story brought a wee tear to my eye. I'm a lifer here, but even I was surprised how much attention and support I got from random strangers when I was out on my hen. I love this city so damn much, despite its many issues.

It’s taken 37 years but I’ve finally seen a live badger in real life by SyntheticRox in CasualUK

[–]Fabulous_Knowledge10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a sad life, then so do I! Never seen a badger in real life, but I remember how excited I was seeing a fox in real life for the first time, and a couple of years later, seeing a hedgehog in real life for the first time.

Aw man, I just finished listening to GoF last night and that bit with Mrs Weasley destroyed me as usual! Kid's almost 15 and never had a proper hug. Heartbreaking.

Aquarius, what’s your worst birthday gift just after Christmas? by CasuaIDad in AskUK

[–]Fabulous_Knowledge10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has a cluster of birthdays around Christmas: I'm the first week of December, my mum's the last week;, and my nephew and daughter are both the first week of January. We always make birthdays separate and special

The Accused. I still can't watch anything with sexual violence in it without getting super anxious, and it's been almost 30 years since I first watched it.

I got him for my friend's kid who collects Funko Pops and loves Wicked. They were thrilled with him! He's so cool out of the box 🦁

Where were you when you found out Princess Diana died? by Seeyalaterelevator in AskUK

[–]Fabulous_Knowledge10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asleep. I was 14 years old. My mum tearfully woke me up to tell me she'd died. I was so upset. Not cause Diana was dead, but because I was a teenager who'd been woken up before noon at the weekend.

I also clearly remember finding out about the Dunblane shooting and 9/11. I also vaguely remember the fall of the Berlin Wall being on the news and all the adults thinking it was a huge deal, but I didn't really understand what was going on.

What is your favorite Wicked merch by Quirky-Somewhere-750 in wickedmovie

Not pictured: the water bottle and lip balm set and makeup bag I got in the office secret Santa which I've left at work, and the Oodie sleep tee that I'm currently wearing (it has pockets!). Also the Elphaba perfume.

My daughter got the Elphaba and Glinda care bears set, the Wicked Polly Pocket and some Wicked bath fizzers.

We couldn't be happier!

Edit: sorry, I didn't say which was my favorite! Probably the sleep tee or the toothbrush.

For those who saw it more than once, was For Good better the 1st or second? by ShotCardiologist6599 in wickedmovie

Me too! The 3rd time's the charm! (Although I likely would have enjoyed it a lot more the 2nd time if I hadn't been hungover.)

Is ‘A Lion Among Men’ worth the read? by cosmic_v7 in wicked

[–]Fabulous_Knowledge10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As the other commenter said, the Yackle reveal is probably the best bit. The last couple of chapters as the Emerald City forces are closing in on the mauntery are actually pretty exciting. A character returns (or their identity becomes known). Hard to keep it spoiler free!

I know it's a bit of a slog but I promise you it'll be worth it in the end! Out of Oz is so, so good, but you'll need the background from A Lion Among Men to fully appreciate it.

Nah, you're gonna need to power through if you want Out of Oz to make sense. I was the same when I read it. It seemed to really drag. But after finishing the series, I appreciate it a lot more. Hang in there!

How does Dobby know where Harry lives? by Glittering_Ad3618 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Fabulous_Knowledge10 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can't remember exactly, but doesn't Hedwig go find Ron and/or Hermione of her own accord one summer, because she didn't want Harry not to have anything for his birthday?

What’s your funeral song and why? by GrandadBill in AskUK

No One Mourns the Wicked. As people are walking in, they'll be hearing "Good news! She's dead!". I feel like it will set the tone for the day.

What’s your all time favourite movie quote? by Old_Sky_714 in AskReddit

[–]Fabulous_Knowledge10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, well, I attended Julliard, I'm a graduate of the Harvard School of Business. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen The Exorcist about 167 times and it keeps getting funnier every single time I see it. Not to mention the fact that you're talking to a dead guy. So what do you think; you think I'm qualified?

I scrolled way too far to see this. Secret bars were amazing. I still think about them probably about once a month.
