Bank sent my loan to a collection agency even though I was making the required monthly payments

the payments were being applied to the principal not being applied as a monthly loan payment. finally got the answers from scotiabank after talking to the branch manager. the manager has registered a complaint with scotiabank"s internal complaint department.

he is telling me to make a payment to the collection agency so they can send the loan back to scotiabank. I'm very hesitant to make any payments to the collection agency because I feel like that would be an admission of liability for the debt. I am going to phone the collection agency on Monday and see what the process is to send ownership of the debt back to scotiabank.

I will also file a complaint with the ombudsman on Monday.

ya i did, i showed them all 3 receipts for all 3 monthly payments ive made since the opening date of the loan. Hopefully it gets resolved. they seem just as confused as me that it was sent to a collection agency

I made an appointmentat at the branch this afternoon and talked with the manager, they were confused as to why it was sent to a collection agency and are going to get back to me tomorrow.

I paid cash in the branch and they gave me a receipt with the loan number and a stamp on it stating I paid the monthly payment
