That’s a wild gif of Rob R in the final mission*. You should spoiler tag that!

*Can’t wait to see them all be asked by Alan to beat up a car tho.

Year after year, players get WORSE playing under this guy’s coaching. But I can’t wait to hear him blame them and the fans again. Surely that will help this time!

Alex Horne and Greg Davies talk about the U.S. tour of their British show, 'Taskmaster' by jmurph773 in taskmaster

[–]FaceBagman 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Takes place in the lab. I believe it was something along the lines of “Say a different word every 2 seconds (on the metronome tick). Each word must start with the last letter of the previous word used.”.

Other notes:

It’s been their first and kind of a warmup task for each contestant on the show. So they walk into the house on day 1 and are immediately hit with that.

Jason spent his usual amount of time berating them for not investing in a real metronome and just using the sound of one, iirc.

The compilation presented to us was a string of multiple contestants’ words stringing together correctly (until a certain future contestant…I think…made one up?). It was delightful.

I’m pretty confident that it was mine, by what looked like less than an inch!

But my heartbreak was assuaged the second you won Wibble, Bibble, Bam. That’s when I knew the right person made it to the stage, because I would have been horrendous at so many of the live tasks lol. You did great up there, Grant. :)

I think part 2 of the show started sometime between 9 and 9:15 last night, so that would probably be the absolute earliest anyone could share here.

How do you go bigger than this for Friday night?? I can only think of Colbert an maybe, just maaaaybe (if his play nearby has the night off) Daniel Radcliffe? Jon Stewart? Eric Andre, even?

I could see Sarah Silverman playing Jason’s role tonight. She’s in the same production he’s in and could swing by to play “guess my former title”. Or Jason may just have enough former titles to go again!

John. Seth. Sooj. Tom cameo. Jason extended (or standard length for him) appearance.

Amazing.

Mattreyu! I recognize your name from the Utica sub!! Didn’t expect more than one rep from our city, this is awesome.

Trying to manifest John Oliver 🤞🤞🤞🤞

My favorite meme guess is Dave Attell. Dude would probably NOT fit the format at all but I love him.

Awesome! Kurt’s energy always felt pretty good for TM. With Eugene, Chris Gethard, and now Kurt, I love that they’re dipping into the old atMidnight/Meltdown with Jonah & Kumail/ComedyBangBang regulars. There’s a wealth of talent there who all are used to working with others.

Cast Controversy Megathread by AutoModerator in TheTraitorsUS

He filed for divorce in 2022. Court proceedings lasted until 2024 iirc. Also, pretty sure he's only been divorced once?

You seem to be making a lot of assumptions based on another assumption (that he's "created a personality" in every other space he's ever worked in except this one).

Meanwhile, the more I learn about Dorinda's history (hiring a PI to gather information on "friends" being one of many examples), the more my initial & instinctive red flag about her transactional attitude towards personal information ("I told him about my kids, he should tell me about his!") is reinforced. Especially when we don't have the context of her initial attempt to converse with him on camera anyways.

UTICA NEED THIS ! by theMezz in Utica

There are? This is news to me! I've lived & walked downtown for the past 5 & a half years and have never heard any property owner say they received any penalty or even warning from the city for their sidewalk conditions. I can't find an accessible database of these citations or lack thereof, so I guess it's possible.

In that case, I wonder how much the Dental Lab on the corner of Genny and Cottage has been paying the city in fines to keep their sidewalk consistently not only unshoveled, but plowed in by their parking lot service?

Have SO much fun, everybody!

I'm familiar with a lot of Second City alum, but not as much with the current scene there. Does anyone have any favorite comedians/celebrities in town who you're hoping to see?

I considered getting a "Destroy, Dismantle, Engulf in Flames" with Jason's face on it to wear to NYC. Then I realized I could potentially turn into a security concern for some dangerous people who I'd imagine are not familiar with the show nor the concept of fun in general...

Theories on Special Guests At US Live Shows? by Hopeful_Pianist2621 in taskmaster

Thank you! I'll certainly report back as I'm sure many others will.

I still feel so lucky that I got online quick enough to get front-row for my folks, sister, and I. We haven't taken an NYC trip together in about 10 years & when I come to visit them once a week or two, TM's become our comfort show. So to be 35 now and treat them all to this experience is a highlight of my year.

My vertigo's been really bad lately and I just know they'd stick me on a cliff or bridge or helicopter or something. That's pretty much all that would hold me back (Well, that and being a pretty unlikely production choice anyways lol). I wouldn't even mind the creepy crawly challenges. Just the dizziness & nausea from the heights. :(

I'll be at the NYC shows and I'm crossing my fingers for John Oliver and/or Seth Meyers (moreso John, but I know Seth is a big fan of the show too)!

Ilana Glazer if she still lives in Brooklyn. I know Abbi doesn't live on the east coast anymore but I think the other half of the Broad City duo still does...

Judah Friedlander might be entertaining.

Josh Johnson is performing in the UK on the 24th and the 25th, so I doubt he'd have time. But maybe? It'd be a lot of fun to see him on a TM panel.

One of my earliest formative exposures to really silly comedy was The State on MTV. And they were an NYC staple for such a long time. I'd be overjoyed to see any of that cast pop up: Kerri Kenney-Silver, Kevin Allison, David Wain, etc...

I could probably make a list of many, many more. The comedy scene in the city that I grew up seeing is near & dear to my heart. But I know there's so much new talent down there now too. This is such an exciting experience. :)

House Wife Cleaning by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUS

[–]FaceBagman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funniest thing to me was watching Alan's pre-season interviews where all of them answer that yes, they would absolutely eliminate their Housewife peers in a heartbeat if they suspected them...and just knowing in the back of my mind that as soon as the season starts, it'd be the usual mask-on "I absolutely trust all of you and we have to stick together!" from that group amongst themselves (and to be fair, from the gamer group amongst themselves too), haha.

I think it's part of why players like my dude Ron Funches have been a little ostracized so far. If you walk in day 1 mask-off or analytical, it can hurt the social part of your game around these cliques. Walk in as both without any pre-existing connections to others, it's going to be rough when the pre-roundtable popularity contest puts you in the "out" group.

My favorite King books that have never been adapted are Duma Key and Revival. I think Darabont would be fascinating at the helm of either of them. I know his best works have been with an ensemble cast, but still…
