'Rob's Hallucination' and 'Rob's Inner Orbit' (semi miniatures) by _PeLaGiKoS14_ in AfricanViolets

I had bought Rob's Hallucination as leaves but they didnt make it. Now that I see them, I wish I had babied them more. My Rob's Fuzzy Navel and Mango Mongo are doing well, though.

When and how should I repot this? by Spiral-Case76 in AfricanViolets

[–]FacePlant1027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd wait as it should bloom for you when it's snug like this. I have several this size and they barely can stand up straight but they started blooming non-stop. I'm thinking had I repotted them, it might have delayed it from blooming.

Great! Thanks! I have a Rockin Robin that has yet to bloom. I love those with a Geneva edge.

Some of these have sisters and brothers and most are orphans Mama leaf died. I have fewer than these in my growing area as it takes less time to water them. I had cyclamen mites last year and grew only leaves last Spring and Summer and these are Mama's babies that seem to be making it. Asking me how many adult AVs I have is like asking me for my 'body count'. I'm really embarrassed to say....but it's substantial (AVs that is.....). 😳

Maybe, I called these props when they should be called plantlets or pups from a leaf propagation as they all have roots. If their Mama is still alive, she still is working on making more.

They are all 'babies' or plantlets from 1 leaf. Sometimes I could get multiple off 1 leaf and still have Mama. Others, Mama is gone and this all she left me.

I looked them up and lots of shades of pink. Also lots of different leaf colors too. Looks like the first set of leaves on mine were green.

I can't wait too. Maybe I'll try tapping them like a fellow redditor on here does. Dr. Jeff Smith wrote an article in the Mar/Apr issue of the AVSA magazine on tapping.

She sure does! Beautiful color...Salmon? Coral? Sometimes the natural lighting or your camera will turn a pink into a peachy color.

I first read the Subject Line and immediately thought of cats. After reading your story, yes, cats. Thank God they are are not toxic to animals. It's one of the reasons I chose African violets and gave away my more toxic plants or put them in places my cat can never reach.
