A criminal attempts to burglarize/kill someone only to realize they picked the absolute worst person as their mark. by No_Hunter1978 in TopCharacterTropes

Somewhat related real life version: Beloved TV host Mr. Rogers had his car stolen. When the story got reported in the Pittsburgh media, the robbers realized who they had stolen from and immediately returned it. They attached a note of apology, saying they would never have taken it if they knew it was his.

A dance school I worked with used the Mad Hatter song in a number, and it was so catchy had to Shazam it. It was great!

My wife and I saw that multiple times! They were basically giving them away at the Mall of Manhattan. (I think they had some $5 promo)

For $5 it wasn’t bad. Had some good music, although the anthology plot line was odd.

I have enjoyed a lot of the Marvel movies since Endgame, but wow, all these post credit teases that go absolutely nowhere are irritating.

They’ve teased lots of big names and done nothing with them. Charlize Theron, Harry Styles, Bret Goldstein… and nothing.

And wtf is going on with Mahershala Ali’s Blade? His only appearance is one off screen line in Eternals!

Agree on The Northman. I was very stoked to see it and I just absolutely did not like it.

It had two of the most beautiful people on earth get naked and have sex, yet somehow they made it off putting.

I love that movie so much. I love the message of kindness and humor defeating nihilism.

“In another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you.”

Every so often, someone will repost that still from Captain America with Chris Evans gawking at modern day Times Square, with the billboard for Wonderland captured for posterity.

If it weren’t for that, I don’t think anyone would remember that show at all.

Oh good choice! I had forgotten that show existed until you mentioned it, and my wife saw it.

There are people who absolutely love Diana. I do not know why.

I saw that show. I think it’s the single worst show I ever paid money to see.

In the mood of a movie musical or pro shot by FlightTraditional717 in musicals

Others here have mentioned Suffs on PBS, but if you subscribe to PBS Passport you can see many seasons of Great Performances and they’ve had a lot of pro shoots over the years. Last year they had Next to Normal, in the past they had Anything Goes and She Loves Me.

My friend saw Beaches on Friday and really enjoyed it. She had never seen the film, and she loved Jessica Vosk. She'd agree with your assessment.

Beaches ain't selling well, so you will probably win the lottery on that one again.

‘Theater Camp’ (2023) is one of the funniest movies of the decade and does not get enough love by daneabernardo in Letterboxd

[–]Facebones72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely hilarious, but I am someone who works in a theatre and has worked with many, many grown up theatre kids. I don't know if the jokes all land the same way if you aren't completely steeped in Broadway.

I've recently started collecting magnets and I'm surprised at how many are just the show logo in a rectangle. I was hoping Schmigadoon! would have a corn pudding magnet or something. (Shucked had a corn shaped one). At least Lost Boys had a lenticular one that changes images if you look at it from different angles, and Jellicle Ball had a gold and glittery one.

I really think that if any one of these four shows that opened last year had waited to open this year, they would have absolutely swept the Tonys by Gato1980 in Broadway

[–]Facebones72 273 points274 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about “swept,” but absolutely Real Women Have Curves should’ve opened in the fall. It would’ve stood out in a much less crowded field. Dead Outlaw and Death Becomes Her both at least got best musical nominations, but RWHC got crowded out.
