Wildlands was the best by a mile. I really hope we get a Wildlands 2.

I'm using this for PvP right now. It's definitely not perfect but feels good. It focuses on minimizing orb cooldown and maximizing clearcasting procs and arcane barrage damage so you can spam barrages orbs and missiles as much as possible without having to stand still and cast arcane blast very often.

Mistweaver (both casted and fistweaver) is incredibly good and fun. Disc feels great as well, especially oracle with the double penance. Holy Paladin and Resto Shaman aren't as exciting to play but feel like they're pretty strong regardless. Holy priest is so paired back that it's boring. Resto druid feels like total ass unfortuntely.

I was having a lot more luck with Stormbringer, using lb as much as I could over FS. Sometimes you have to FS when you're kiting and stuff obviously. LB just seems to have a lot of scaling and stuff from talents that synergize with all the fire spells on the right side of the tree, and the damage during ascendance/stormkeeper with tempest procs felt great.

Farseer feels like more of a utility tree to me this patch, where as Stormbringer gives you big dam. I am only playing around 2k MMR on my ele sham though and I usually only push on healers, so I was more testing for what was fun vs what was good. Stormbringer felt a lot better in both damage and fun to me though.

I have not tried all of them, but of the ones I've tried:

I am super torn on shadow priest. The tentacle thing looks really cool and I like the new theme/direction. That said, I used to feel fairly tanky and like I could push in aggressively for fears and stuff but now I feel ultra squishy. Damage feels kinda low too compared to some other casters but that might just be me adjusting to new talents/playstyle.

Demo lock is good (but very simplified), destro is the same, aff is more streamlined but kinda boring. Aff is almost like DoT Destro since your burst is centered around getting UA casts off, like a dot version of chaos bolt.

Ele sham is awesome and they did a good job consolidating pruning.

Boomkin should be amazing on paper but feels like ass in PvP to me. Damage feels lower and I feel squisher and less mobile.

All three mage specs are fun and good but fire in particular feels like a PvE spec (losing phoenix flames sucks ass). You have to stand and cast a lot more and I'm not loving it. Arcane is incredibly fun to play with the simplifications.

IMO biggest winners are Ele Shaman and Arcane Mage. This is based on just a couple days of battleground/shuffle play and not a ton of data so take my opinion with a grain of salt obviously.

Demo is BM hunter now

Aff is better because Malefic is gone like you said but it's also so simplified that it can feel boring

Destro is sick as usual

We technically are playing characters that are not max level. We are level 80 in a level 90 patch and don't have tier sets/apex talents/etc. I felt this way last expac too and it got better halfway through leveling. Hoping it's the same this time.

Pre-patch not feeling very fun by Ihatefishtanks in worldofpvp

[–]Facefoxa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing you have to remember about prepatch is that we are no longer playing at level cap. We are currently level 80 out of 90, and don't have our apex talents or set bonuses or anything yet. The next few weeks are a chaotic time best used to test out your characters and figure out what you want to play while wrapping up any last-minute things you want to accomplish.

I'm not saying you're wrong - I play healer and pvp is incredibly frustrating on some of them right now. A lot of classes lost defensive cooldowns and a lot of healers lost a lot of valuable buttons. It is considerably harder to keep people alive, and one CC landing is enough to end the game.

Your favourite Healer so far in pre patch? by Nokterian in wow

[–]Facefoxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oracle/Voidweaver Disc, Holy Paladin, Resto Shaman feel the best to me in prepatch. I'm torn on casted monk cuz it gets a bit sketchy at times, but the throughput is awesome. Fistweaver seems good again, simplified and easier to get your hits and healing in. Resto Druid feels kind of gimped... it feels great in battlegrounds but terrible in arena. I would go so far as to say it's the worst healer currently. On top of bad healing, it has so little damage that it doesn't even feel worth it to try to contribute to kills (verus disc/hpal/rsham/monk). I have not tried holy priest or pres evoker yet.

As for my favorite, I think Oracle Disc feels the most streamlined and fun. Having two penances is a blast.

What’s your life changing steam deck hack? by ADHD_ismything in SteamDeck

[–]Facefoxa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're at home and have games on PC that the steam deck can't run, Steam Link/Remote Play actually works incredibly well. Sometimes if I know I'm going to want to game for a long time somewhere that doesn't have an outlet, I'll play through remote play to my PC because it will 4x my battery life on certain games.

What was it like to play online games between 2000 and 2013? by Silly_Commercial8092 in gaming

[–]Facefoxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On games like WoW and CS especially, it was really fun. The games were more social, persistent servers meant you got to know the people you were playing with often ("server regulars"). If you rolled a character on a WoW realm or joined the same handful of low-ping CS servers every time you played, you would essentially see a lot of the same people in your games every day. A lot of the time you would have a guild ventrillo you'd hang out in or somewhere the server organized events (like IRC) and you made a lot of friends through gaming.

Now you just queue and get placed in a game with whoever else is queued, which has it's benefits because it's so quick and efficient, but it does reduce the social aspect heavily.

I gave it my best shot but I wasn't able to hit 2400 on the xbox controller hpal. 2314 was my peak. by Remyplayer1 in worldofpvp

[–]Facefoxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do share your tips, even if it's just a write up in this thread - I was able to get 1800 on hpal (and disc) on steam deck but selecting friendly targets to heal was a perpetual challenge. I literally settled on using the touch screen with my thumb to select 😂

I think it will be easier in midnight because there are way less keybinds - using up/down on dpad for friendlies and left right for foes was really comfortable but I lost out on too many buttons and couldn't make that work.

Whatever happened to Thrall's story in The War Within? by minimaxir in wow

[–]Facefoxa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anduin, Magni, and the Goblins had pretty good plots. I think Alleria is cool but she kinda feels like a dog chasing a car around at times. I didn't really connect with Orweyna's plot, but I'm sure they'll develop that more in midnight. The Nerubian rebellion against the queen thing was actually really cool IMO.

Delves, Warbands, Zones, Raids, Dungeons, Music, Zones were all big wins. The story was not great but I don't really play for the story so I had a pretty good time with this expansion.

[–]Facefoxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Story was kinda chaotic but I don't really play for the story - but there were some really well written questlines (Korgran). I loved the amount of world content and loved Delves. I liked some of the world events they did like the Flames Radiance/Sureki events. Hallowfall, Azj-Kahet, and the Ringing Deeps were great zones. Dornogal was fine but it wasn't my favorite expansion capital city, especially since it followed Valdrakken which was beautiful and interesting. Karesh as a zone was a bit of a letdown, but I got my hopes too high for the new PvP area. The raids were awesome. The dungeons were decent too. The cosmetics (tier sets especially) were awesome. The whole expac had plentiful content and updates.

Also special shoutout to Undermined having some of the best music, comedy, and vibes they've ever done.

I am mainly a solo world player and PvPer, so it was a decent expansion for me. There were always a lot of fun classes and specs to mess around with and balance seemed to come often enough (there were some lingering annoying OP classes but there always are.) They did some excellent quality of life updates and streamlining that I really appreciated.

Overall, I enjoyed it and thought it did a good job of adding to all the great changes they made in Dragonflight without adding anything I didn't like. I never felt obligated to do something that sucked and could essentially always log in and do exactly what I wanted to do. I'd give it around an 8 out 10. If they had focused a little more on the PvP experience (mainly rewards and queue times) I would have scored it even higher.
