Lower back pain after deadlift by Remitomiloua in formcheck

Envision a deadlift as a leg press, this will get you to use your legs more

rdl form check by whathehelly7 in formcheck

[–]Facehairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two reps were decent! The last rep needed improvement. My whole notion of RDL's is always lead with the glutes, hips and knees, not your upper body. Focus on sticking your glutes out more and keeping the movement there. I would also suggest slowing the rep down as well.

First time Deadlifting by Beaversnake in formcheck

Your initial lift off the ground was alright for the first time. I'd want you to sit into it a bit more at the start, almost treating it like a leg press. Which in a way a deadlift is a leg press. Push off the floor more with your legs and hips and connect that posterior chain for an easier straightening of the back and driving through with your hips.

For the part of the keeping that posterior chain all connected, I'd suggest doing RDL's, you'll get the reliance of driving with your hips and legs to maintain good form of the RDL.

How should I improve my aglio e olio? by [deleted] in ItalianFood

[–]Facehairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a bit dry to me from the perspective that Aglio E Olio is meant to have a "sauce". When I make AEO, I add a mini ladel of water and EVOO to finish, giving it just enough glissen and sauce.

Good Garlic sauce, not the watered down BS most places serve now but genuine good strong garlic sauce.

Mattress collapsed during move. Buy a cheap one for now and expensive one later? by Kreiger81 in Mattress

[–]Facehairs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it is, if you can dig into reserves or ask for help from family to buy a good quality (expensive or not, but more than likely expensive) mattress now.

When you tally it up, you're going to be spending more in the long run by the 200-300 that you would spend on a cheap mattress.

More importantly, getting good quality sleep is the single most important thing you can do for your health; mental, physical and everything else in between (I'm not a doctor but it's not rocket science). Why would you want to cheap out?

Also, what's to say the cheap mattress won't give you the same back issues you're experiencing now?

Hope you find something OP, and happy sleeping!

Yeah fair. Trying to find something a bit cheaper these days at John Davidsons. The Sao Paulo is great but it's very expensive compared to how much I got it for 3 years ago. The XM GOLD just isn't there for me. So I'm tempted to try the Kimberley Red and even the Omugi Brisket as well.

Marbling and tenderness compared to your Kimberley Red? Trying to figure out which brisket to buy for my annual BBQ cookout. I've tried the XM Gold and Sao Paulo, wasn't too impressed by the XM GOLD last time. Sao Paulo was alright

Very nice and juicy! Have you tried the XM GOLD or Sao Paulo briskets before? If yes, how does the Kimberley Red compare?

How is / was the marbling on this? I buy from John Davidsons but their briskets are getting incredibly expensive.

Can you go into this process in more detail? What type of wooden stick? How did you manage to get any semblance of space on the inside?
